Help with twitchy neck

For some reason I can’t identify, over the past fews days I developed a twitch in my neck. Every few seconds my head with move involuntarily just a little bit. I can’t remember the exact point it started to happen. I haven’t done anything or been in any situation that could have caused this. I have only changed my diet slightly, and it was to include more fruits and vegetables. I haven’t taken any drugs except alcohol about two weeks prior (though it was alot).

I think it has gotten a little better than when it first started, but it’s still worrying me alot. At the end of the day my neck is really sore from being tense I guess. I have tried meditating and relaxing even though I feel like I have very little stress in my life at this point in time. It seems though that when I focus more attention to it, it gets worse.

Is there anything natural I can take to calm this down? I read somewhere that potassium helps with nerves though I don’t trust the source too much.

Calcium and potassium balances have a lot to do with nerve control, but if I were you, I’d try a few nights of good sleep first. I develop a twitch under my eye if I get too stressed and only sleep cures it.

But, there are a variety of medical conditions that can cause muscle spasms. If the sleeping doesn’t help, see a doctor, or at least a professional nutritionalist.

Also, you might want to apply heat to the area, to calm any muscle spasms.
