I had a blast! And several people, including strangers, told me I was the best non-professional in the line up. I will post the video on some hosting site, and tell you more about the show, this evening - right now I’m on my way out to spend time with my brother. Did I mention he came down from Boston just to see me in the show?
Oh, it wasn’t old baby? Well, forget it then.

Partial crispy sounds yummy too.
Hee, Taters. The recipe has been added to the blog, old baby and all. (I put in an explanation, but couldn’t bring myself to remove the original; I was laughing too hard.) Sounds yummy, though.
Glad things went so well, rosie! Looking forward to the video.
Way tired, still, so I’ma take a nap.
Hugs.

OK, you can stop worrying. I’m here, I’m fine, I haven’t been abducted by aliens or a passing circus. We’ve just been busy finishing the screening in of under the porch for daughter, We had to build the big screen wall and install the screen door. It went well, but it’s cold out there! **FCD **is in bed giving his back a rest, daughter is caulking the ceiling joints, and I’m thawing out.
I need to run the vacuum - there are all kinds of leaf bits all over the carpet. But other than that, I think I’ll just assume the knit position. I started my niece’s afghan last night - it’s going to be nice, and maybe a bit bigger than her brother’s. She’s older, she’s entitled to bigger.
(says the oldest of 5 sibs…)
I’ll be working late the next 3 days - going in with daughter. Thurs is a holiday, and I just took Firday off, plus I get my car back on Firday. Yay for that!
In summary - short week, long weekend, getting my car back. Life is good.
Ugh, we are cleaning out the disgusting fish tank. I’ve been after my husband for months to do it, but somehow, I’ve been roped into helping him today. It is groooooooooosssssss. I’m not happy; this was supposed to be HIS tank and I somehow always get stuck cleaning. I get stuck with all the nitnoid parts too; washing the rocks, washing the tubes, and all the other fiddly bits.
Now, I have to hold the stupid drainage hose thing too, because once again, the stupid clip for the bucket disappeared.
Whine, whine, whine. I hate cleaning that thing. I didn’t want it, and only bought it because he really wanted it for his birthday a few years ago.
Hmm, I am hungry though. I think I’m gonna take me five minute nutrition break.

Okay, started following the blog. Now I have to Google Old Bay. I know what old baby is: I have two.
mr ems took me out for brekkie this morning then as he has been sanding kitchen cabinet doors outside I have washed and gassed up the car and vaccumed it out, cleaned bathrooms, folded laundry, cleaned the kitchen, vaccumed the house and scrubbed the bathroom floors. I am now in the living room looking up at the ceiling fan and realising that the blades need dusting badly as I forgot to do them on Friday when I dusted the rest of the house. Think I will go grab some coffee, pick up mr ems’s prescription then dust the damn things.
So much for a lazy Sunday
but at least it was a productive weekend.
Lasagne for dinner tonight I think…
Two out of four of us have deheathenized now. Hubby’s in, and I’m number four. Getting ready for church tonight. I got to get on the phones Friday and take phone calls: I realized how badly organized my customer service book is. So after church, I’m going in the kitchen and organizing and tabbing it. I have to be on the phones the day after Thanksgiving, and I’ll never get anywhere with my book the way it is now.
Hooray rosie! I knew you could do eet.
I took Culinary Boy to Biltmore today. He’s never been, I’ve done the house three times (twice due to free passes from work). He was very impressed by the kitchens. And the rest of the house as well, but I told him he had to see the kitchens there. Then we went to Antler Hill Village off in the back of the estate where they have the winery and the farm and a very nice talkative woodworker. We did the free wine tasting. We both had the chardonnay and then I had the Christmas white, chenin blanc, and the zinfandel. All very good. They also had RC Cola in glass bottles for sale in one of the shops. I had to get one in a plastic bottle from the gas station on the way back home.
Also if any of you have experience with airbeds/air mattresses, I could really use your help over here.
I’ve done nothing but run around all day. Nothing left but to make chili, and watch the Packers game.
Congrats, rosie
MMMMMMMM… old baby seasoning. YUM!
I’m glad gt left that in cause it makes me giggle! The recipe sounds nummy Taters. I shall consult the blog soon and make it.
Rosie yay! Can’t wait to see the video.
mmmmmm I dusted ceiling fans last week. I have one in every room except the dinin’ room. I like 'em but they do get all ick.
Today is All Saint’s Sunday, meanin’ we celebrated the Feast of All Saints which is November 1st but can be celebrated on the Sunday closest to the day. In Episcopal parlance that means the 1st Sunday following All Saint’s Day. It was a good service but a little heavy on the incense. You know you’ve gone overboard with incense when it sets off the fire alarms. That happened right before the Processional Hymn For All The Saints (duh!). ![]()
Brunch was wunnerful as always too. Tons of food and this wonderful apple tart that will cause me to hound the bringer of until I get the recipe.
Ok, off to, umm… other stuff.
Later Y’all!
Heh!
Well, I’m glad I could give you all a chuckle. Old baby…the words don’t even go together.
Washed 25 pounds of fish tank rocks and gravel and then said screw it, and used a new 25 pound bag of gravel and threw away the rest of the old gravel.
I need to finish washing out some of the other parts, then we can start filling the tank.
rosie, I knew it would go well and I’m glad it did!
Yeah, there was something just too funny about old baby to edit it out.
Sorry, no experience with air mattresses, Spaz.
Brother is taking nephew home, so I have the house to myself for a while. Yay!
We went to the playground a couple of times today and climbed all kinds of things and swung on the swings. We also went to get ice cream.
Now I’m relaxing and watching Harry Potter 3. Haven’t seen it in a while. I still think it’s the coolest one of the series.
Also about to get into the knit position for a while.
Hugs all.

What’s up with the absence of Rolaids on drugstore shelves? I found a couple of articles dated in February - something about a recall due to a musty odor. Hello??? They can’t get more out yet?
Grumble.
Yay for having fun, Rosie! I told you it would be fine!
That Merryland Fried Chicken sounds yummy!
We’re having beef kebabs, grilled veggies, baked potatoes and steamed asparagus. Mmm!
I have the new MMP all typed up. I’ll post it later this evening.
Technically, aren’t we all old babies? ![]()
From Rolaids.com:
"You may have noticed that some of our ROLAIDS® products are not available at retailers. This is due to our recent recalls. We are working hard to rectify this situation and we apologize for the inconvenience this may be causing you.
Please use our product locator to find the products that are available. And if you’d like an email notification as products become available, we’d be happy to send you that as well."
I work for a medical supply company, and we still have Rolaids on manufacturer backorder. I have no clue when we’ll get any in. Sigh.
Yay for Rosie! So wonderful that the performance was a success and especially that your brother came to see you.
Hope you enjoyed spending time with him today.
The recipe sounds wonderful, Taters, old baby and all (thanks for leaving that in there, GT, cause it made me giggle too!).
Spaz, I can remember my parents taking us to the Biltmore Estate once, coming home from summer vacation visit to Dad’s parents—we returned to Michigan from Virginia via the Smokies–of course, you don’t really appreciate stuff like that when you’re 7, unfortunately. I’d love to go see it again now, though.
My Dad is doing better; at 81, it takes longer to get better, especially when you’re a diabetic. So still sending good thoughts and prayers his way. He’s still got a horrible cough, but is fortunately getting respiration and other therapy as well as medications.
Swampy, I so want to go to your church, or rather find a congregation like that in my area! Especially one that does Sunday Brunch once a month.
Good luck with the apple crisp recipe, btw.
I can’t take any time off before the surgery (my left eye cataracts!), as I’m expecting to take a couple of days then, but at least it will only be a 4-day week this week. Hope everyone has a good week!
