A good mayonnaise is one of those things that has its place when used properly and in moderation, but I get why some people don’t like it and I’d probably be just as disgusted by that drink as the people in the video.
The only thing I ever use mayo for is certain sandwiches, particularly turkey (roast or smoked) or chicken sandwiches and some cold cut sandwiches, in all cases only where lettuce is involved. Mayo is a good complement to sandwiches that work well with lettuce and tomato. I never use it anywhere else.
One of the best inventions to come out of the kitchen chez Wolfpup is sliced marinated grilled chicken off the barbecue on a toasted onion bun or large sesame hamburger bun with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise.
I would have sighed, too! I make neither tartar sauce nor mayo – I’ve mentioned the two brands of tartar sauce that I like with fish & chips.
As for mayo, I’ve heard that Duke’s is good but I’ve never seen it here. I like Hellman’s, but as I said, certain sandwiches are the only thing I ever use it for.
Don’t know about spicy mayo, but Legal Sea Foods chipotle tartar sauce is great with fish & chips. One of the upscale grocery stores around here makes a chipotle mayo that is fantastic with crab cakes – it’s similar but not the same as the Legal Sea Foods tartar sauce.
But otherwise I don’t see much use for spicy mayo. I only use mayonnaise on sandwiches, and if they need spicing up, I use Dijon mustard.
I can’t do spicy anything anymore, but in the past when I wanted spicy mayo (great on a chicken sandwich for example) you just use a little hot sauce or cayenne pepper or something with the mayo. That’s generally all spicy mayo is anyway. I’ve never seen a point in buying spicy mayo.
I missed a Lego Masters special! I never saw any ads for it. The rerun of the classic Night Court series was over. I tuned to the local Fox affiliate for the 10 o’clock news. I saw the last few minutes of a Lego Masters special. This makes me wonder what else I missed.
The commercials I’ve seen feature Franklin (Billy’s son) begging for sweet, sweet dollars prayer time.
Scary! Glad the outcome wasn’t so awful. There was one of those trains in the city park near my elementary school. One day, my kindergarten teacher walked the entire class (only 25 or so kids) to the park to ride the little train. My primary memory of the day was my mom, who volunteered at the school, walking alongside the train and reminding me not to put my mouth on the train or put my hands in my mouth.
No, Spicy Mayo is a real thing… and it is on grocery shelves. If you use it instead of regular Mayo… you might forgo jalapeno slices or Cholula sauce on a sandwich.
Granted, this is for people who like spicy food. I like it best on thick peasant bread with swiss cheese and boiled ham. I like to toaster toast the bread, wrap the bread in parchment paper, and then Panni Press the sandwich.
It’s been a weird week. I felt very sleepy all Monday. After work, I tried to take a nap. I woke up when my beloved called me. Then, I slept til my alarm went off the next morning. I woke up feeling sleepy. I have been sleepy since then. I generally do not get cold easily. I have felt cold all this week. According to the digital thermometer, my apartment has been in the mid to upper sixties. I have felt chilly unless I was wearing long pants and a hoodie. If I had any other symptoms, I would think it was the flu or something.
As I have mentioned many times, I work in a virtual call center. Unless a caller does not speak English or the call ends after 5, I am required to ask the caller if they want to take a survey. If I do not ask, I get points deducted.
So feel free to ask, and we’ll understand the reason for your motivation.
But for darn sure I do not answer surveys of any sort unless they start with: “We have sent $20 to you already. As a gesture of purely optional reciprocity we’d like you to take our survey if you don’t mind.” I’d probably still decline to participate, but at least I’d think about it. In a spirit of fairness.
I’ve ordered from them several times. The draw, to me, is that they have several options without nuts. I’m not allergic, I just hate them. I’ve actually made fruitcakes at home, several times, and they are yummy - just too much work.
There was was bakery in Vermont that shipped nut-free fruitcakes, but they gave up the business :(.
I’m tempted to tell places “if you hound me for a survey, I will leave a completely negative one”. But I never do - because it might genuinely cause someone some trouble.
When we bought our car, the salesperson was at some pains to tell me that if I left a negative review about any aspect of the process, it would impact everyone involved. So: sales manager made us sit through 30 minutes of high-pressure attempts to sell us unnecessary addons? I wanted to tank his review. But the salesperson was nice, so… Bastards.
I don’t mind if a place asks me to do one - I just decline. But some will KEEP NAGGING ME about it.
