I think that what you have, my dear, is a RussianBlue Double coat, silvertipped greyblue fur, green eyes all present and accounted for. Does Chaos have grey pawpads?
I have had 6 cats over the years, two Russian Blues, one Russian White, an Australian Mist and 2 tabbies. While one of the tabbies was without a doubt the best cat of all time, both Russian Blues were excellent. Still have a Blue. Excellent, intelligent creatures, playful into adulthood.
When Hai was small and needed to learn table manners, we got her a harness and attached a leash to a ceramic piggy bank. That way she could be in the same room with us, but couldn’t beg or launch herself directly onto our loaded dinner plates. Didn’t take too long for her to figure it out.
She still begs a little now and then at dinnertime, but that’s TD’s fault since he gives her tiny samples of what we’re eating. (Uness it’s beef. Beef makes spin and her projectile vomit. Not an appetizing sight.)
Part Siamese? Is that what might be to blame for thiscat? Pointy face, big ears, very strongly food motivated and she never.shuts.up. Just meow-meow-meow chatter chatter all day long. I can’t even look at her without her going mrowp? Cute though, which is why we keep her. But at her most annoying…well, I fear one day she will regret looking somewhat like a soccer ball!
Chaos is adorable - I’m glad you rescued him/her! I have a ban on grey kitties in this house, since my first two ran away, but yours is cute enough I’d probably have kept him/her too!
Some cats are very talkative. Siamese, Siamese mixes, and Siamese related cats are famous or notorious for being talkative.
Chaos might or might not have some Russian blue in his/her genetic background. Russian blues are pretty rare, and somewhat valuable, so I doubt that s/he’s a purebred. I think that s/he’s just a random source kitty.
Sorry. I think that we’re keeping him/her. S/he has latched onto us, and we hate to disturb her again. Besides, the younger orange male cat has decided that s/he’s OK, and he’s been wanting a companion to play with. The two of them box and wrestle and chase each other.
My wife is adamant about us not getting any more cats. At one point she put her foot down and refused to have another cat ever. This was successful in reducing the number of cats in the house from 4 to 6. (Need I say that, while I love cats, the only one that I ever brought home was the one I had when we first met. The other 11 were her imports :D.)
We took Chaos (and her name is really gonna be Chaos) to the vet this afternoon. She’s definitely a girl kitty. She’s also at least 8 months old, and possibly as old as 18 months, the vet didn’t want to be pinned down any further than that. She weighs 5.2 pounds, which is rather more than Bill or I had thought, and seems to be a perfectly healthy little cat. She was a very good girl during her exam, and the vet tech loved on her for a bit, which she enjoyed. She’s always ready for human attention. She totally charmed everyone at the clinic. She wasn’t as fond of the shot, but she decided that it was OK.
At least now I know why her conformation is that of an adult cat more than that of a kitten.
She gets spayed in 9 days. The vet says that she’s old enough, and big enough, so we take up the food on Tuesday evening. All four cats are gonna be pissed about that. Oh well.
She doesn’t particularly enjoy being in the carrier if the door is closed, and she doesn’t like car rides, but she only complains softly for a few seconds. Then she decided that she was just going to be quiet for the rest of the ride.
