Good. I have a lot to think about this week so it feels like Tigger is living in my head, bouncing to and fro, but I’m good. How are you?
My stomach hurts. Other than that, pretty good.
I’m a happy boy! Taking care of my recuperating lady wife and enjoying every minute of cooking, cleaning and spoiling her rotten after her colycystectomy!
Thanks for asking!
Cat, got some rolaids, Maalox, etc.?
Elfie, Being busy and having Tigger in one’s head is a good thing!

We’re having a good day here. Took Ledzepkid out to ice cream after his fiddle lessons. We had a nice talk. He’s a good kid. Practices without being reminded most of the time. But then, he’s the one who asked for lessons.
Glad to hear your wife is recuperating and you are enjoying taking care of her.
“Fiddle”? As in Bluegrass, Rhiannon? (sorry can’t bold names again and I forgot how to fix it).
That’s awesome! Does he get the music from the parental units?

Yay! Good news!
I ate something I shouldn’t have this weekend, and got my IBS acting up again. I’m hoping to eat mild foods for a couple of days and calm it down again. And oh yes, I have Pepto Bismol. I just chug it straight from the bottle. ![]()
Very nice - you know you’re fully in middle age when you’re chugging pepto instead of beer.
Actually, he is a huge fan of Celtic music. He like both Celtic folk and Celtic rock. Though he leans toward the rock. Groups like Flogging Molly and the Young Dubliners.
I don’t know where he gets his musical talent. Possibly from my mother. I can play the piano, a bit and Suburban Plankton can play guitar, but we really don’t. I keep thinking I will take piano lessons again. Maybe now is the time to look into it.
I bet he’d like Richie Blackbourne’s band, Richie Blackbourne’s Night. I have one of their Christmas cd’s and it’s a favorite (more of a medieval flavor) of mine and my son’s.
Sorry to leave you guys hangin’ last night, but I needed to look after D.
For Cat: I used to have a pink Fender guitar (forget the type, but it was only $150.00 used), the exact color of the Pepto.
So what did I do? I had myself photographed with it, and sent a letter (this was back in the early 80’s) to the company (Proctor and Gamble, IIRC) and asked them if I could use their logo on the back of my guitar as advertising for them, and could I get paid for showing it to my audience?
I was only half-serious, Cat, because in those days I was a drummer only and only got to play very easy songs with the chords A, E, D and G.
So anyway, the reply came, thanking me for my loyalty to their product, I got a coupon for a free bottle, and a very polite “no”: “This isn’t the way we’d like our product presented, Bill”. I still have the letter, but not the guitar, because the rest of the band felt it was something only a girl would use.
Thanks

This has been around for decades. My grandmother had it on a plaque in her house.
*There’s nothing whatever the matter with me.
I’m just as healthy as I can be.
I have arthritis in both my knees
And when I talk, I talk with a wheeze.
My pulse is weak and my blood is thin
But I’m awfully well for the shape I’m in.
I think my liver is out of whack
And a terrible pain is in my back.
My hearing is poor, my sight is dim,
Most everything seems to be out of trim.
But I’m awfully well for the shape I’m in.
I have arch supports for both my feet,
Or I wouldn’t be able to go on the street.
Sleeplessness I have night after night,
And in the morning I’m just a sight.
My memory is failing, my head’s in a spin.
I’m peacefully living on aspirin
But I’m awfully well for the shape I’m in.
The moral is, as this tale we unfold,
That for you and me who are growing old,
It’s better to say “I’m fine” with a grin
Than to let them know the shape we’re in.*
We have Blackmore’s Night’s album “Village Lanterne” which came out about 5 years ago, I think. Great album. I keep thinking I’ll pick up some more, so now I’m thinking the Christmas album would be perfect. Thanks for mentioning it.
No need to apologize about last night. I hope Dondra continues to improve.
Thanks, Rhiannon. Y’all mean a lot to me and are always here when I need you, so I hated to leave this thread, because my mood wasn’t that good anymore.
John, I remember that poem! Thanks for sending it along. It made me think of the following one of my favorites:
THE WINNER by BOBBY BARE - YouTube (written by the great Shel Silverstein! I sure do miss his songs and his wit!)
Thanks and Rhiannon, I looked up the spelling of Blackmore’s name and still got it wrong! ![]()
Also, best wishes to your son and his Celtic fiddle playing! Does he have anything on YouTube we could watch?
Thanks

All’s well here on The Farm. My 10 year old Quaker Parrot hen, Sami, has begun her twice yearly egg-laying spree which hopefully only last a couple more days. Other than that, all’s well here in WV.
How you doin’ ?
Dondra let me sleep until 1 yesterday afternoon, because I stayed up with her the night before, so now I’m wide awake and “fixin’” to start playing Warcraft until I get sleepy. Other than that I’m a happy boy!
Thanks for asking!
