heres a few things id do or think about if I was in charge of Mexico and the wall happens or they begin building it
pass a law that all north American companies that have Mexican workers they pay them 35 percent of the companies home country minimum wage with health care unemployment pensions etc.
2 make all non Mexican north American residents that aren’t working in Mexico to go home and property seized
3 force all the companies from number one to incorporate in Mexico
4 since 1 and 3 would make them money offer a one time cash bounty for all the workers ot come home and after a year if they refuse they cant come home ever as there not mex citizens anymore …… let Americas fields rot worse than they all ready are
5 end nafta and stop all imports to the us …….
and if anyone doesn’t like it just nationalize the industry ….
Now here’s the rub if enough of the billionaires and CEO’s even think any of this will happen the political money would change directions ……
I know quite a few Mexican workers who’d get paid less if their salary suddenly became 35% of the US’s federal minimum wage; this includes people whose jobs don’t require a lot of scholarly training but do require time-in-job. Why should Mexico allow that, much less require it? Are you trying to run qualified people out of Mexico?
All of this stuff hurts Mexico as near as I can translate what you are saying into English (or Spanish). I’m unsure if your intent is to punish Mexico intentionally, or if you really don’t get how this stuff would hurt them. I THINK you are just ranting and don’t know what you are saying, but if not and you really do want to hurt Mexico for some obscure reason then just so you know…none of that is going to happen. It’s more like Trump’s idea of a good plan…put it that way.
As for the last part, basically what it boils down to is the CEO’s and ‘billionaires’ you’d actually be talking about are those in Mexico, and you are probably right, as if enough pressure is brought to bare they probably would change the direction of their money. I’m not big fan of the wealthier classes in Mexico, to be sure, but they are powerful and will change if pressed. They also aren’t stupid (except about the class stuff…or, if not stupid, they are narrow focused, even tunnel visioned to degrees that I don’t think most Americans even understand).
True and , they will probably gain a few hundred square miles of territory probably including some 300 or so miles of the Rio Grande. The wall will have to be built on the US side of the border, and won’t always exactly follow the true border, but will effectively become the new Border.
How would Mexico force US companies to incorporate in Mexico? Does this apply to companies who have Mexicans do their landscaping? Restaurants that employ Mexican dishwashers and busboys? How about the businesses who already have divisions south of the border?
Farms that employ Mexican workers would probably not get better farmland in Mexico.
This is a drunk post. Go take a siesta and sleep it off.
The easiest thing to do would be to place free tunnel digging hardware at various places on their side of the wall. The Israelis are having a hard time with tunnels from Gaza, and that is a much shorter border.
Exactly, the Mexican subsidiaries of US companies are already incorporated in Mexico. Our OP seems to have taken his notions of how multinational companies work out of the pages of Iron Man.
Well they really need to start thinking Mexico First. Establish better sea trade/transport lanes to other international partners. Prepare for the US to exit the world stage as their economy tanks and a Hitler like ruler starts to really gain power. Move the military on the US/Mexico boarder or prepare for it, beef up boarder crossings from the US, perhaps plan to accept refugees from the US till the US closes the boarder (after all what’s what the wall is really for - to keep people in), and make allies and perhaps try to get a alliance pack to prevent US aggression.
