Heroes 1/22 - "Godsend" (SPOILERS)

Pretty sure it was blocked by Bennett. So it’s a mystery for a little while longer. Whoopteeshit.

You go to Hell! You go to Hell and you die!

I too thought it was interesting that Nikki is apparently capable of manifesting superhuman strength all on her own, although MrWhatsit isn’t convinced that when Nikki broke the guard’s nightstick in half, it was really Nikki acting and not a brief Jessica takeover in progress. To me, it looked like the actress was doing her “Nikki” face instead of Jessica, for whatever that’s worth, though.

I don’t know about that. It felt like more of an introspective episode to me tying things together and setting up for future plotlines. Not a bad thing by any stretch but the big moment in the episode for me was seeing the symbol on the hilt.

The dinosaur in the museum is probably not the dinosaur in the painting. They showed the painting a few seconds later and Hiro was facing it with a drawn sword. It’s enough to make me think the shot in the museum was a fake out.

It seemed to me that it was Jessica breaking the nightstick, she was asserting herself. But the line is getting blurry.

Best line of the show, Hiro’s soft “pssssssssh”. Although Claire and Zach was pretty cute as well.

And a nice little completed cycle there at the end. “That was my first attempt … as far as you know.” Heh.

Jessica has never been shown as particularly convincing at passing herself off as Niki, which is why I think that it was Niki. Of course that little family is still the least interesting of all the storylines so I can barely care.

Micah? Isn’t it past your bedtime?

Uhh, we need a code for that to work.

I almost forgot how much I love this show. It even blows Battlestar Galactica out of the water. It’s like the TV equivalent of a complete multivitamin formula that tastes like a chocolate fudge sundae.

I thought this was a fairly good episode, but there were three things were I felt like the writers had set up something big, and then just decided “nah”.

(1) Claire and Zach. So there was this big thing last episode that his memory got wiped so they couldn’t still be friends… but now they’re friends again

(2) Sylar clearly seemed to be escaping from his cell when he killed Eden… but he’s back in the cell, with no mention of how

(3) Parkman was right on the trail of AED… but that all fizzled out.
Still, good fun (although I don’t think this show is quite as insanely good as some of you think).

Understood. Just pointing out that the show is now setting up fake websites to make it all more “interactive,” and we haven’t yet gotten to key to get to the next part of the site, but the door is sitting there.

Again, I really hope I can just enjoy (and fully understand) the show from just an hour a week. None of this extra junk.

But that was good! It’s not like they’re BFF, Claire is rebuilding the relationship both because she needs a friend and in defiance of her father.

I heard something on the radio that said Hayden Panettiere is going to be in town at some comic show (I think). How geeky would it be to go get her autograph?

I feel like my crack dealer just got out of jail.

I happened to have my laptop up when I turned the channel over to watch Heroes, and I saw the promo about the wonderful interactive experience, so I went to NBC.com and registered and logged on.

I found it to be a total snooze that was distracting from the show for no good reason. There were a lot of star factoids “Did you know that (whover played Simone) once played __________ on __________?” (Hiro had guested on Scrubs before was the only one I remember). There were also little quick poll questions “Which NBC show do you like the best?”, and “Who do you think this guy (the guy who came to visit Micah’s dad) works for? Mr. Bennet, Linderman, choce C, or choice D?”

I found it was a pointless distraction that added nothing to the viewing experience. I turned it off by mid-program.

You ain’t missing a thing.

These are odd issues to me, because it seems like they were all pretty well cleared up (at least in my recollection).

  1. Claire and Zach are friends again? True - but she obviously had to put some work into it to make it happen. Wouldn’t the fact that he can’t remember anything that happened recently coupled with her obvious display of ability make Zach think that maybe there is indeed something weird going on?

  2. I don’t really remember what happened with Sylar at the end of the Fall portion of the show. However, obviously he wasn’t being held in someone’s spare bedroom. Even with his power it’s not unreasonable to assume he could be recaptured (especially with the Hatian there running interference).

  3. It fizzled out because Mr. Bennett and his organization are far more powerful than Parkman and his mind reading. The Hatian guy was there so Parkman couldn’t read any thoughts, and obviously Bennett is very good at hiding what he’s up to.

All of these plots seemed fine to me. With so much going on, I can’t imagine how they’d drag any of these story lines out for two or three episodes.

I have a total girl crush on her. I think she’s just adorable.

I’m pretty sure that one was shown on last night’s episode. Right around when we saw the website address, there was a little ? (don’t know what it’s called, but similar to when the network shows a little logo) at the bottom left of the screen. There was a number for an access code. I have it on tape, but I’m at work right now.

In the online comic that took place after that one aired, we see that Mr.Bennet and The Haitian run in right after the gunshot, and The Haitian presumably does whatever he does to knock Sylar out, or they just tranq him up, or whatever.
