I think we are meant to infer that Angela’s “self-inflicted” wounds and the Matt/Nathan fight were both caused by Nightmare Dad’s power. Mind you, I don’t know that makes him Evil – Angela has admitted (and demonstrated) she’s not exactly on the side of the angels, herself – but it puts him firmly as an antagonist of the Heroes, so he’s going to be one of the villains of this season. They may be setting him up to repent before he’s inevitably snuffed, though.
If Matt screams ‘I’ll never join you!!!’ - I’ll quit watching.
I see no evidence to link Angela to Parkman the elder.
I loved Nathan telling Parkman “im not a cargo jet”. With Hiro out of the picture this season was missing a lot of the funny touches of the first one, that was a nice return to that.
But the way he said “pleasant dreams” when he closed the door on them, then very casually walked out of the apartment and smiled this (IMO) evil-looking smile–oh yeah, and the ominous music over his exit–makes me think he’s not really a victim here.
Agreed; I’m undecided on whether I think he’s the murderer, but I do think he’s alive. The way his head was turned and blurred in the group photo seems like a clue. There’s also Bob who wears horn-rimmed glasses (? some kind of glasses, at least), so I think West’s guy wasn’t Noah, but Claire is supposed to think so to set up some kind of conflict, probably to drive her away from Daddy and toward West.

I just thought of a great moment the writers should have thought of…
(Peter rummages through paraphernalia in box)
Peter: “Peter…Petrelli? What kind of dumbass name is THAT?”
To me, it would’ve been funnier if she’d said “Your name is ‘Petrelli’ ?! You’re an eye-tie?” hawks and spits
I think that West works for the company based on the way he is trying to draw Claire out and make her trust him. He has had some weird facial expressions when talking to Claire (especially when she said “It’s my dad…” he looked like she wasn’t supposed to reveal that to him yet). I think we’ll find that out later in the series. Overall, a good episode, but there could have been more Hiro.

We know straight out that Papa Parkman’s whammy was responsible for the Nathan/Matt throwdown, no inference required. But, again, if he’s merely seeking to escape from them then that’s explainable in a non-EVIL context. As for the music cues and the smile, I’d have to review the tape. I agree that he’s responsible for the attack on Angela but also agree that she’s ethically ambiguous to the point where an attack on her doesn’t move him into the EVIL camp. Dare I say, he’s AED Mark II?
Ooh. Random thought. Did we ever see the Hoodie Killer on-screen with a character other than Papa Sulu? Maybe Papa Parkman just whammied him into thinking there was someone else on the roof and Papa Sulu threw himself over the side.
I’m pretty sure Ando said he saw someone.

Wait! I’ve got it! WAG SPOILER!!!
Just like tonight, Nightmare Man is siccing the heroes on one another. He sent someone to tackle Papa Sulu off the building, and sent Claude after Mama Petrelli, each in their own nightmare. Just like Nathan and Matt found themselves fighting each other instead who they thought they were fighting.
Ooh, I’m so good.
ETA: Crap, I started this post before Otto posted, but finished after.

If Matt screams ‘I’ll never join you!!!’ - I’ll quit watching.
That character is played with an over dramatic sense of importance on everything. I thought it was a little cheesy at first, but then I figured that if you had superpowers, you just might take your situation a little too seriously.
Everything worked out for the better when they paired Matt with the more relaxed Nathan. I like that they are at least aware of how dramatic Matt’s character is and they aren’t taking him too seriously.

Yes Hiro definitely needs to come back. His story line is the most boring.

I would have said the Wonder Twins are the most boring, followed by Claire / West, and then Niki. Hiro doesn’t even get an honorable mention.

See, I’m not convinced that Papa Parkman is capital-E Evil yet. As has been mentioned in a couple of previous threads, the last he knew Molly was Company Property so putting the whammy on her is defensible if he’s on the run. Now suddenly after 25 years his son shows up out of nowhere with some guy Papa Parkman doesn’t know, asking about the whammy that he’d put on the Company Property. Again, not at all unreasonable for him to whammy them and escape. Papa parkman is petty and small, sure, but he’s not necessarily EVIL.
Papa P was living in what I would call a seedy motel - I don’t think he lives there because he wants to. He’s hiding out. I don’t think an ultimate baddie would live so poorly. They tend to have big egos.
If Elle is the counterpoint to Claire, then her “father” would have to be BOB. :smack:

The Wonder Twins are predictable, but at least something happens in their storyline. The same thing, but it’s something. Plus, now there’s the tantalizing hope that Sylar will eat their brains.
Claire’s storyline cannot be the worst storyline. It has Mr. Muggles in it. QED.
I don’t even think Niki has a storyline yet.
Hiro’s “storyline” is being Kensei’s sidekick. And we don’t get to see anything Kensei does – they just tell us that it happened, offscreen.
… in fact, since it’s being presented as a narrative flashback framed by Ando’s appearances, it’s almost like Hiro has been reduced to sidekick-in-a-side-story-of-a-secondary-character’s-plotline. Which is all kinds of wrong, and a waste of a fun character and pretty good actor, to boot.

Before the prospect of Sylar having brain salad, this really was going nowhere.

I hate lap dogs.

And yet I still stand by my statement.

I believe this is going somewhere, but they haven’t revealed it yet. It’s just enough to keep me hooked. As for stuff happening off-screen, I have no problems with that. I grew up watching old Twilight Zones, which were able to creep you out without ever showing anything on-screen. I prefer to let my imagination fill in the gaps (and I understand, from a budget perspective, why they do that).

Oh man, if BOB showed up on Heroes I would shit and die twice.
I feel like swinging by Old Montreal tomorrow, taking a photo at the intersection of St. Laurent and St. Jacques and seeing how well it matches Peter’s painting.
maybe B.O.B. ?
Or What About Bob?

I don’t necessarily think so. I got the impression of a total personality change. What if “the nightmare man tm” has the ability to get, literally, inside peoples heads? What if papa Parkman was possessed by the same person who was scaring the crap out of molly? Just a random thought.
Also if I may add my .02:
A slow start but this season had me from go. I also hope Hiro gets back PDQ but I think it’s for a better future plot point that he stays in the past.
I’m having a hard time figuring out what the motives of the company are. They wanted to blow up New York to make the world better for mutants and they also keep track and some times cage wild mutants. So are they for norms or for muties?
