But but but … Why didn’t Nathan’s jammie bottoms blow off when he went supersonic? Huh, huh? How come Claude’s clothes disappear along with him???
It’s a field effect.
“Have you ever seen a shirt make a phone call? Being invisible is THE BEST!”
What does ‘passing’ have to do with it? I was thinking he could draw on his experiences with his own family in regards to his sexuality. And, of course, his experiences as a feared and hated minority, as well. (Remember, George was in the internment camps in… mm… Was he in Montana? I think so.)
George is a great guy, with an amazing sense of humor, and I’m really glad to see him getting work. And he’s been ‘more or less’ out since the 80s, I believe. He only said it blatantly recently, but it was pretty well known among fandom for ages.
(Edit: Well, I knew it since the 90s, and I wasn’t paying attention. Also, I still maintain Claude has a SEP field, rather than actual invisibility. Psychic Invisibility, you just overlook him.)
We just watched last night. I’m happy on several counts: it’s an episode where things actually happend! and, we now know that the encounter between Hiro and his father wasn’t just irrelevant guff thrown in for the helluvit.
But… the scene with little Hiro and his father and Claire being given to Bennet: that happens on THE rooftop! That’s the roof of Simone’s house, right? The artist has a painting of that roof overlooking nuclear wreckage, right? So… what’s speculation here? Simone or her father had some sort of tie-in to PaperCo and the anti-mutant organization?
Does it really? Huh. I think Simone’s dad had the prophetic dreams. Yes, he’s Mr. “I had a dream…”
My WAG is that it used to be Claude’s place, and upon his death/disapearance went on to become Isaac’s place… IIRC, Simone’s father’s place is not in the same building as the art studio.
This explains the flashback sequence, current events and Claudes feeding of the pigeons there.
Hmm. We didn’t remember that, but that would be totally cool and explain why Peter has predictive dreams… they rubbed off.
I don’t know if it’s ever explicitly stated, but it’s been advanced a few times as a hypothesis as to why Peter had the dreams. Plus, it does seem to fit the character.
Well, it’s papa Deveaux’s building anyway, we don’t know if Simone lives there. Or rather, lived there.
Simone didn’t seem to know anything about the super stuff but she commented to Isaac that she and her father never could figure out how the pigeon coops got up there on the rooftop. Personally, I think papa Deveaux may have known or suspected Claude, but didn’t say anything.
I like the idea Peter may have picked up the dream thing from papa Deveaux. I guess it’d also explain why papa Deveaux was a whiz at picking stocks.
But was papa Deveaux involved with this anti-super organization? Good question. He could have just been coincidentally leasing space to various companies in his building. It’s really unfortunate the Deveaux family is gone now. Or is it? Any other Deveaux heirs running around?
Finally got a chance to sit down and watch the episode online with a good connection.
DA-HAYUM! That was the best episode yet. Just…wow.
I think I figured out how the Bennet family keeps the neighbors from wondering why there are explosions, gunshots, and chronic memory problems around their place… they just tell everyone it’s a meth lab.
If only I could get an SEP generator for my cube somedays.
(This’ll be another reference that most don’t get, though it’s one of my favorite Douglas Adams inventions… far better than the IID)
