Hey, mac_bolan00, use the [shift] key.

Well, you are putting effort into your posts, which counts for something. The quality of mac_bollan00’s material is rather low even setting punctuation aside, probably because he doesn’t really care all that much about the reader or improving his game. At any rate, I think it’s a good general rule to simply dismiss those who can’t be bothered to craft their missives.

Plus in his sig he claims that he is slightly racist, an understatement in my view. Not much worthwhile about 'ol mac.

This may be caused by the proliferation of iPads. You have to go to a second keyboard screen to get to the apostrophe.

no, you just hold down the “,” key and the apostrophe will pop up.

my own pet peeve is the dependency on auto correct. there’s something about a typo hiding in plain sight as another word that irks me, especially when you find it in books and newspapers.

Holy cow, it does! ‘’‘’

Thanks for that tip!‘’’

He should use Capslock, its quicker anyway.

here’s more in case you’re not aware of them:

[ul]
[li]hold other assorted keys for æćçëñtš[/li][li]hold the “.” key for quotation marks[/li][li]you can add international keyboards in settings[/li][li]tap the shift key twice if you want to type in all CAPS[/li][li]double tap the spacebar after a word to add a full stop.[/li][li]hold the dock key to split the keyboard in half so you can use your thumbs instead[/li][/ul]

Those I know, but somehow I missed this really, really useful one! I love the keyboard split, myself.

That’s rapidly becoming mine, too. These errors make reading comprehension really difficult - auto-cucumber? God donut? WTF?

Why don’t you capitalize? Auto correct doesn’t bother me as much as those who can’t put minimal effort into their posts. Is this another iPad thing?

nothing can spoil my christmas spirit.

Interesting. But it still requires more effort than just a tap and some people are supremely lazy.

Pray tell, what is the dock key?

I know. I was excited for me. I like punctuation. Also, if you hold down the period key you get quotes. Cool!

Another iPad/iPhone caps tip: put your finger on the Shift key then move it to the letter you want to capitalize. It will capitalize that letter then revert to lower-case.

The same technique can be used for punctuation and numbers by sliding from the “123” key to the temporarily visible number/punctuation keyboard.

no, it’s just a passive-aggressive way to rebel against those who would so quickly judge a person by his cover despite the content. (no, not really, but it’s as good a reason as any. /nods )

of all the quirks to have, this has the least impact on readability. yet it is brought up rather often as an apparent means of insulting a poster. i do not know who this **mac_bolan00[Zb] is but if the best you could do is pit him on capitalisation, to this by-stander it speaks more about you then it does him.

When you have the keyboard up its the key next to the .?123 button, that looks like a diagram of a keyboard.

Press and hold it. A world of wonder awaits you.

Happy holidays, mac!

and to you.

Can’t we all just ‘get along’?

<I’m going to go stand in the corner now.>

i prefer the limbaugh release “they didn’t beat that idiot hard enough.”
