Hey, I'm going to be on NPR's "On Point" tomorrow!

… barring some executive decision to cut me off the show.

The topic is the status of Black families. I’ve done a little research on the topic, and a colleague recommended that I participate to the show producers. Unbelievably our NPR affiliate in Austin doesn’t carry the show on the air, but if your affiliate gets On Point from 11-12 noon EST, tune in - you can even call in!

I listen to On Point every Tuesday and Wednesday, so I’ll hear Hippy Hollow holler tomorrer!

Yay, good luck!

Pretty cool! Break a leg. (AFAIK, we don’t get On Point.)

Cool! I will definitely check it out - if not live, I’ll download it later.

Hey, I’m black! Give me a preview – what’s my status?

That’s awesome! I enjoy the show, except for the call-in portion. The host, Tom Ashbrook, is quite good at wrangling difficult callers, though. I’ll be sure to listen.

… and pull the plug friends, I won’t be on the show. I just got an e-mail from the producer that they are going in a different direction… I’m not sure what that’s code for, but they apologized and said that they hoped to have me on a future show. :frowning:

I’ll still be listening. The professor at Vandy who suggested I join the discussion uses my book in her course, so I’ll be interested to see what she says.

I have done an NPR show before - Talk of the Nation, about five years ago. That was fun. Maybe my stuffy nose turned them off…

Sorry, Hippy Hollow. But getting asked is still pretty awesome and much farther than most people get. Hope you get the chance to do it for real some time (again)!

Aww, man. I was looking forward.

I listen to On Point and/or Talk of the Nation whenever my lunch break complies. Sorry we won’t be hearing you tomorrow!

Avast! Curses! Dang it!
