[INDENT]I am an old broad who discovered my body’s ability to feel amazing, particularly “down there” when I was so young I do not have any clear memory of when I transitioned from cluelessness to said awareness, it seems like I have always known.

I do have clear memories of masturbating as early as age 6. I vividly remember knowing where to find my mother’s vibrator (which was in no respect phallic, it was similar to today’s “magic massager” style, only right-angled, like a blowdryer, with several attachments. Red rubber ones - my favorite was a narrow cup shape. Very clitteriffic focus.) and doing so with great frequency, once even using it for such an extended period of time that it became almost too hot to touch and led to my mother realizing I had been playing with it and gently grilling me about exactly what I had been doing.

At that point I was already sharing these self-pleasuring adventures with my best friend; we would call it “feeling play”, as in “are you feeling play?”- though I don’t recall ever doing anything TO each other, so I don’t recall what exactly we were doing “together”, as it were.

As a woman, I know that my early sexual awareness, masturbation, and orgasm are pretty unusual, particularly given my age and internetless childhood. But I don’t really know how unusual. So I thought of doing this poll, mostly for the data about females. But maybe you guys will surprise me.

I’m not going to offer 9000 permutations of age, masturbation, and orgasm to choose from for the poll, just some generalities. Please share any details in a post.

My mother always scolded me as a child when I would touch myself so masturbation was never on my radar. I always thought I would get in trouble. Plus, I shared a bedroom with my sister until I was 17. I was sexually active at 16 and experiences were all new. I don’t believe I even touched myself until asked by my boyfriend at the time. After that, I found a whole new world! I guess I was just late to the game.

As I believed going in, and as the numbers are proving out, (though less overwhelmingly than I assumed they would) males typically masturbate earlier, easier, and more effectively than females.

I am surprised by the female response so far and I wish I had plugged in some age data…are the women who responded teens, 30’s, 50’s? My suspicion would be that they skew young, under 35. But since I didn’t ask…

Also since I can remember. Probably since age 5. My first “toy” that brought me to an orgasm was the foot of a doll :p. I was dressing the doll and sitting cross-legged with it in between my legs. Well, we’re not deep, and most of us are only interested in female experience, too. With details, which can help us research the feelings we have buried/never given a single thought to. And, it being a poll, some baked goods are in order, but not like in American Pie.

I was young enough I still played with Barbies. I first figured out hugging a pillow just right felt good. Then I used my stuffed dog. I would hold his ears. My memory isn’t linear, but I think I remember sort of humping my friend’s leg around age 6. Around age 8 I found my mom’s Playgirls in her nightstand and was also an avid horseback rider.
