Orgasm - How Early Can You Have One?

Hi, folks,

I originally came here to search for an answer to a question that I friend and I have been discussing for over a month now - at what age can a child first actually experience an orgasm?

Thank goodness for some anonymity here…

…the subject came up because I told her that I first remember having orgasms at around the age of 5 and that I couldn’t keep my hands off, well, myself, for years and years (although, at 44, it’s well under control). She insists that a 5 year old boy cannot have an orgasm. I explained that I didn’t mean that I ejaculated, just that I had a real, honest to God, orgasm.

I’ve searched the net and the only thing I can find is the idea that 3-5 year old boys find masturbation “stimulating” and “pleasurable”. What I want to know is - was I having orgasms or not?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I don’t like to come a second before 8:00 am

Is 12:01 AM too Early or is it late? It cant be too late…Its never too late to have an orgasm.

I thought orgasms for a boy was part of ejaculation. Evidently, Kinsey says otherwise. Pre-adolescent boys can have them.

Orgasms are wasted on an 11 month old. sob

I have read, and had it supported empirically, that the amount of ejaculate is directly related to the pleasure that males experience. In that prepubescent boys are incapable of ejaculation, as not only are sperm not being produced, but the seminal vessicles aren’t even functioning (don’t know about the prostate), the opinion from this corner has it that while some sorts of pleasure and excitement may occur in young boys, and that pleasure may even be associated with an erection, it is not an orgasm. Welcome to the SDMB, by the way.

jar was too quick for me. I was going to say “about five minutes after i wake up.”

Seriously, while i jerked off plenty as a young fella, i think the first time it came to a successful conclusion i was in about the eighth grade, or about 13 years old. Let me tell ya, i was pretty proud of myself. I don’t recall having anything that could be described as an orgasm before that.

“the amount of ejaculate is directly related to the pleasure that males experience”

No. The amount of ejaculate is directly related to the amount of time since the last ejaculation. I’ve had some mind blowing orgasms that produced very little ejaculate, usually as a result of having sex more than three or four times in a night.

According to Merriam-Webster Online , an orgasm is defined as “intense or paroxysmal excitement; especially : an explosive discharge of neuromuscular tensions at the height of sexual arousal that is usually accompanied by the ejaculation of semen in the male and by vaginal contractions in the female.” (emphasis mine). This definition implies that, generally speaking, orgasm without ejaculation is possible for males. Not exactly a respected medical authority, I know, but there you go.

That said, I was also able to bring myself to orgasm as a first-grader. My technique involved crossing my legs and rhythmically squeezing the package (such as it was) until orgasm. And yes, they were roll-your-eyes-back, toe-curling orgasms, identical to the sensations I get today, and not just “some sorts of pleasure and excitement” (that I get just from watching that chick on Alias).

I never realized they were orgasms until I was 11 (and yes, my technique had been refined a bit by then), when one was accompanied by an ejaculation.

You comin’ to chidope by any chance?

Well, there you go. Live and learn.

You mean I could have started even earlier?! Aaah all those wasted years!

I think I had my first orgasm when I was about 9 or 10 years old. Like you said there was no ejaculation (no fluid whatsoever), but I distinctly remember that the orgasms I had then, were more intense than those after I reached puberty. This is probably due to the fact that, as a 9 year old, I had the misconception of thinking I had to go beyond this barrier of pleasure to get to the ejaculation part. Was I surprised when as a 12-year old it was that easy! But It seems I can’t push myself as far as the ‘pre-ejaculation era’ anymore because the urge to release seems that much higher.

I can understand it being related to the the amount of work the prostate (or any other used parts) have to do within a given period of time, but you can’t measure the amount of pleasure strictly by the amount. If a man has multiple orgasms over a short timespan it may be he has less ejaculate than he would have after obstaining for a week. But, in my experience, If I have an orgasm a couple of times over short period (24 hours) the latter orgasms are more often than not more pleasurable than the very first one.

Good God, I shudder to think of what you found when you entered “3 year old boy” and “masturbation” into Google…:dubious:

CLEAN OFF YOUR COOKIES!

"You comin’ to chidope by any chance? "

I’ll be there with chaps on.

Hey, leave him alone. He was… ahhh… doing research.

When you’re done in Chidhope, you can come visit me…lol

The single greatest moment of discovery in a boy’s life. No wonder boy’s are so focused on it.

If you are rich for as long as you can remember, money isn’t much of a deal. But to be flat broke, and then hit the lottery at 13, and your life is changed forever.

I still remember thinking “holy shit” and the shock that the ejaculate didn’t look like whipped cream, like I had been told. I hunkered down in the bathroom that whole damn weekend, for further study. That weekend, I learned the meaning of several terms I would hear later in life. Shooting blanks. Friction burn. Etc.

Good lord! I wasn’t expecting so many replies in less than a day!

(I’m disabled and housebound… I guess everyone that answered is the same…).

So the consensus seems to be… a 5 year old boy can have an orgasm! (I knew something was going on).

My friend is doing my grocery shopping tomorrow and when she delivers them, I’ll show her these replies (smugly).

BTW - I do remember - distinctly - the first time I actually ejaculated. I was 11 and it scared me for many reasons (not the least of which was that my testicles ached horribly afterwards). I went to the school library later that day and found that a “white discharge” from the penis was caused by gonorrhea or syphilis (I forget which one). I didn’t know how I contracted either disease, but I was sure I had it and lived in fear until, a few days later, I blurted it all out to my next door neighbor, Linda, who was 13. She set me straight! (She was a great source of information regarding sex when I was growing up - I later discovered that almost every guy in the neighborhood had ‘been with her’ and that she charged $1-$5 for such encounters; I finally understood why she was so… knowledgeable).

And, UES Guy, my early experiences were similar to yours - mind-blowing and toe-curling, etc. That’s why I refer to them as real orgasms. They weren’t the best I’ve ever had (that would be 1982 and 1986 and 1994 and 1999 - it’s been downhill since then) but they beat (pun) reading comic books to fall asleep.

Thanks again,

Nah, we’re just addicts!

Are you only asking about male children?

Well, if you’re not: I was 6 when I discovered orgasms. Had no clue that’s what they were, but… well, that’s what they were.

Yeah, I was five when I had my first. I’m female, too.
