Hey KISS fans--got an extra 2K (or 25K or 50K) lying around?

If you’re a rich KISS/Gene Simmons fan, you might be interested in his latest venture, the Gene Simmons Vault.

Gene has been working on this project for years: a 10-CD/150 song collection of his unreleased material NOT AVAILABLE ANYWHERE ELSE! It comes in a personally-delivered vault along with other goodies depending on which package you buy:

The $2000 “Vault Experience” where you’ll attend a meet ‘n’ greet event to receive your Vault.

The $25,000 “Producer Experience” event, where you’ll hang with Gene in the studio for a listening session.

The ultimate $50,000 Vault package…Gene will come to your house for a couple of hours to party with 25 of your friends.

Personally, I’m going to pass on these wonderful packages…I’m good with the $5 I spent to join The KISS Army back in 1975.

Do any of the vaults come with a stack of the temporary tattoos from Alive II?

The comments on that site are golden!

I’m pretty sure I still have those.

I hope it’s not boorish to say this, but if I’m paying $2K, I would want more than just a KISS.

If fifty thousand dollars is too steep for you, you can buy a copy of Peter Criss’s new album for twelve dollars. And he’ll deliver it to your house and hang out afterwards too.

I have a friend who will no doubt be buying the 2K package.

He spent 5k custom making his Gene Simmons outfit.

Why is someone with his net worth willing to shlep places for $50,000?

20 of them would be worth US$1,000,000. He could do one a day and still take the weekends off for a $12M yearly income.

Besides, he knows that only crazy people would want his outtakes and stuff anyway, so why not see if any of them are rich crazy people? :dubious:[/shrug]

I imagine there will be a film crew filming the party event. Which will eventually be sold to whichever media source wants it.

Simmons is so overrated by some. He’s just a passingly fair bass player, a terrible singer and a not so nice person. KISS was never about musical talent, they were about the spectacle (and their live shows ARE good) but they were all fair to slightly above average players, with Frehley being the best of the bunch.

I was a KISS fan twice, in the late 1970’s and then again as a teen in the 1980’s. Simmons is an insufferable narcissist who’s best claim to fame IMO is helping get Van Halen going.

So just the low-end $2k package for you?

But you have to feed him, and figure out how to politely get him off your couch after a couple days.

I think it would be a hoot if someone got the $50,000 package and invited Terry Gross to the party.

Yes please.

…and yet:

Seems like he really wanted this to be an show that people would pay to see, so he arranged for it to be a unique event:

I gotta admit, I would have enjoyed being present for that.

It’s like Rhomann Dey said: “Well, I don’t know if I believe anyone is 100% a dick…”

The thing about unreleased material, is that it is usually unreleased for a reason. If it was any good it would have made it into one of their albums.
