No word on who the pranksters were? I was initially thinking some “wild and crazy zoo” radio show.
I read this and was going to post a Pit thread about it myself, but I got booted before I could.
What I wanted to say was this: What kind of sick fucker does something like that? This unbelievable asshat, this gen-u-wine turdburger, this indescribable waste of life–how could he do it? How could he call someone and tell them their loved one is dead? How do you cross the barrier of “dark humor” and go into this sort of ghastly, fucked-up, assholish “prank?” Who could possibly find anything funny about this at all? 
I hope that if they do catch this amoral asshole, they will give him a little time alone with his victims. Maybe if he gets the living shit beat out of him, he’ll use that head of his for more than an oatmeal storage container next time he starts to pull a stupid “prank.” :mad:
With all the genuine horror and death going on in this world, war or not, how could anyone be cruel enough to do something like this?
Sometimes I don’t want to leave my house except to visit my dad and take care of his needs. Sometimes I just want to sit here and weep.

This story reminds me of the deejay in Phoenix who called Darryl Kile’s wife and asked her out a few weeks after her husband’s death. It’s that level of sickness.

I’d like to see some jail time for intentional infliction of emotional distress. This ain’t free speech, this is twisted shit! What sort of fuckwit even thinks this is remotely funny? I’d like to see the judge say, “I hereby sentence you to life in jail!” just to see the little shit’s face drop before he reads off the real prison term.
There’s been notices from the armed services that such death notices are always done in person.
Hopefully that will put an end to this nonsense.
The person who did that is, indeed, a total fuckwit. My nephew is a Marine in Iraq and his mother, my sister, is right on the knife’s edge of lunacy as it is… I can’t imagine what a phone call like that would do to her – even though she knows that military death notices come in person. I would also like to see a jail sentance for this creep when they find him.
This kind of shit is only funny to those that have never suffered. I hope that after this fool has his day of sorrow, he understands and feels the pain he inflicted.
I have read about a few cases of this happening. Fucking sick bastards.
The really disturbing part is that I wouldn’t be surprised if some on the boards will be along soon to defend these calls.
