Here’s the thread in question. It hadn’t been active in 5 months, but it was only fluff to begin with so it’s not like there was going to be anything new to bring to it, creating a new thread would have been silly and I was having a lot of fun reading (and then re-reading when it came back up) all the posts.
There really wasn’t any reason to close that thread that I can see.
I thought we stopped closing zombie threads, but as I’ve said before, even though we ‘technically’ relaxed those rules it seems mods still seem to close them willy-nilly anyways. Before I started this thread, I went back to check on the rules, and oddly enough, I found this thread where you specifically said “In MPSIMS and Cafe Society, we’re generally leaving them open unless there’s a good reason to close them.” In the thread you closed, you said “Yeah, if there’s a reason to revive a zombie, we allow it. There’s no such reason here.” That’s a direct contradiction of what you said earlier.
This isn’t just about that thread, it’s about closing them in general. I really wish you guys would just make up your minds. ISTM there’s no reason to close a lot of the zombie threads. Either leave them open, or reenact the old rule and automatically shut down any thread that hasn’t been active in more the X months.
