Any definite word from Random yet about Black Rock? It really is a bummer if that’s a no go, but if we need to get another place booked, I think it would be better sooner rather than later.

Nothing yet. The manager was supposed to let me know what happened (with the rival booking) last night, but no call. I left him a message asking for the status about an hour ago. I’ve done some preliminary calling around/websurfing to try to come up with other alternatives and have some places in mind. I may stick my head in one or two on my way home from work tonight, with more serious searching tomorrow night.

Actually, I am available tomorrow night. However, I may occasionally let my eyes drift, jump up and shout at the top of my lungs, and hopefully, at the end of the evening, be jumping for joy. I’ll want to watch the NCAA tournament game at 8:40 p.m., which may cause me to act in strange and erratic ways. But you’re probably used to that by now.
Let me know the when and where, and I can swing it.
Keep the responses coming, guys. Whether it’s Black Rock or another place, we’re going to need to move quickly to book the night. Let us know whether you’re on board. We’ll need to guarantee a number to the bar. Also, if the room has a limit, those who respond here will get priority. (Bars are real sensative to occupancy limits these days.)

Don’t know how I missed this comment. Anyway, my 9-year-old gets kinda punchy after we shotgun beers more than a couple of nights in a row, so I thought others might have had similar experiences.

You shotgun beers with your 9 year old, Gundy? Hell, I’d get punchy too at that age. Any kids under 10 should only be drinking hard liquor.
Are you kidding? We had a nipple on our bottle of Maker’s Mark. But bar smoke bothers him, and being a responsible parent, I try to keep him out of bars on consecutive nights.
If there’s a potluck, I must warn you, I cook like a maniac! And I make a mean sangria…
