HEY!
Yay! 8 hours of class for my Series 7!
gag
So, I may or may not be dating again…
Bob, I hope you were wearing clean underwear. This is exactly why your Mom always told you to. Great story! Horrifying Baptists is a great time.
I went back to bed, and lounged for a bit. Time to do some stuff before gallivanting off to Costco, Land of Excitement.
: drives by, waving ::
I was just to church, so it was holey.
Ba da ching
I can’t remember who posted about wedding photographers and I’m too lazy to go back and look right now. But I say don’t go with family!!! For our wedding my husband and I hired his cousin who is a professional photographer. She did give us a 10% discount, but we still ended up paying $1,000 for pictures. (HUGE part of our budget since we did the wedding for around $5,000) We went and looked at her other wedding pictures and were happy. We were not happy at all. I had a list written up of all of the pictures that I wanted taken, we discussed it, she had a copy before the wedding day and I brought along an extra copy just because. We ended up getting hardly any pictures off of our list and I got a grand total of THREE pictures with my grandparents. The majority of the pictures were of his side of the family, hardly any of mine. Plus we got a TON of blurry pictures. It still pisses me off that we didn’t get what we agreed upon. Just be careful when choosing your photographer…
Special1 that sounds so frustrating dealing with insurance companies!! Hopefully you will end up getting the meds for free and she will stay in all of the systems!
VBob-Thanks for the morning laugh!!!
LOUNE-I would say that you are dating based on what you have told me.
Purple–sending lots of hugs and good vibes your way.
My first week back at work last week went by in a bit of a blur so I never really caught up on my jet lag. I was expecting a lazy weekend of sleep and catching up on chores and playing with Libby…but nooooooo
In typical knee jerk reaction/lets make everyones life miserable/lets not think anything through at all on Friday afternoon the Houstonian powers that be decided that every Operations manager (that would be me) and every FSM (dept head) would have to attend every convoy meeting that left the district bear in mind we do upwards of 300 jobs a month not to mention the hotshots, silo moves, hauling, client vists, job audits etc etc etc. Over the cause of Friday 3PM to Monday at 10AM I attended 28 of these meetings and averaged about 3 hours sleep every night. Happy I am not.
I’s tahred!!!
But they saw the light yesterday when none of the Operations guys were available because we were in meetings all freaking day!!! SO we have a solution in place now - much more workable but damn!
Stoopid management
Anyways I leave for my compnay boondoggle to Cancun on Sunday so I am focusing on that for now
Wait, McUne, his cousin was a professional pornographer?
VBob–yes, the lil guy in the picture* would so moon a Baptist church…and then write it up in an obscure notebook in code. Hee.
I ran 3 errands in less than 30 minutes. Do I get a prize?
Laundry is in. Dinner is planned. School today, work and class the rest of the week. I am home alone, thankyouJesus.
Cold wind today. yay! I’m a-wearing a turtleneck. I love cold weather.
*see the imaginary Doper thread for my version of him.
I’m confused… how did we get from a Corgi biting **snowbunny **to a hamster bite? :dubious:
We had a friend do the photographs at our wedding and were very happy with it. No, they aren’t as… well, professional… as a professional but it was cheap and we got pictures of everyone we there.
And like **LiLi **and Nava’s friend, we went non-traditional on the dessert and saved a bundle. Wedding cakes are so overpriced, and I hate all the frosting roses and ugly plastic people and whatnot that so often go on them. We just had two different flavors of cheesecake, which was absolutely amazing and everyone loved. I don’t think anyone cared one bit that we didn’t have the big white cake.
A couple people around here saw snowflakes yesterday and were all like “OMG SNOW! EEEEEK! OH NO! SAVE US!!!1!!11!” Sheesh people. We live in the upper Midwest. It’s frickin’ November. What do you expect?
I found an earring I’d though I’d lost! It was a few weeks ago - the earring must have fallen off while I was taking off my scarf - and I found the back but never the actual earring. I was really pissed because they were a gift from my mom - little crescent moon-shaped studs that I loved. And then today I was tidying under my desk - there was a paper bag down there, with two pairs of shoes that I keep at work because they’re too uncomfortable to walk around in - and there the earring was, in the paper bag. Bizarre, really - I have no idea how it got there - but I’m thrilled. It’s the little things that make me happy.
It’s freezing outside today, but not unbearably so. I agree with rigs - it’s pretty nice.
LOUNE, no his cousin was a professional photographer. Get your mind out of the gutter! Wait, that is impossible for you.
Evenin’ all.
Quiet day at work and busy day since then. :dubious: Yeah, I know, I know - coming home from work is supposed to be a good thing. But I leave work at 5:30, drive home, feed Noor, bathe Noor with hubby, change Noor into her pyjamas, give her a bottle, put her to bed, then refill the pre-measured formula container, prepare the Phenobarb syringes for tomorrow, wash and refill the bottles for tomorrow, then finally sit down and heave a sigh of relief and exhaustion. :o (that’s me yawning) This working mother thing is really kicking my ass! Someone reassure me it will get better? Please?
I’ma gonna sit on the sofa now and try to relax for a while.
Hugs, boos, yays, etc. as appropriate.
Second day of orientation. It’s a slow slog this morning. Mostly review for the few of us who’ve already been here for a while. Luckily, the clueless coworker won’t be back today. I should add that the firm’s geography is a trifle…confused, shall we say. Israel is considered part of the Americas, and South Africa, along with several other African countries is part of “Continental Europe.” Oh, and of course, Canada is part of the US. Which doesn’t excuse not knowing where countries are actually located, but it would be problematic to learn geography from the firm’s maps.
I’m feeling much better today, thank goodness. Class is starting, be back later.
Well, when does she get off formula? Then’ll it get loads easier…
Is there something with the water or some such over there that you have to scrub and sterilize the bottles? For my daughter and #1 son, I just threw them in the dishwasher. (I breastfed #2 son–the one who was sick his entire infancy–but let’s not start THAT flame war, kay? ).
  ).
I just remember reading in some parenting mag or book that the whole sterilization stuff wasn’t necc. anymore. But I don’t know your circumstances. Just a thought. Can you buy more syringes and make up enough for the week? Or buy more bottles so that you have a double supply?
I’m hungry. And bored again. And avoiding school work. I need a good book, but no energy to go to the library. <whiney voice>
Maybe I beat you to it, but you had the better response.
Thanks all for the hugs and kisses. Today is definitely a better day.
Thanks also to **VBob ** for that story. I was cracking up before I even made it to the punchline.
It’s snowing here today! Hooray! Hooray! I’m just sitting here at work eating some tortellini and herb chicken in a creamy alfredo sauce. YUM! Too bad I don’t have any customers to share it with. Oh well.
Carry on, all…
ems–sorry you’re so tahred. How’s mam? (or was it da? I can’t remember-I have sh*t for brains these days)
Eating dinner for lunch–I got hungry. Laundry out; been puttering and tidying things.
Seems to me, and this is just a non-medically trained person talking, that when the symptoms of a cold are just making themselves known, it’s already too late to head off the cold.
