So, I did not see the MMP up and decided to take a chance and make one. I have nuttin’ of substance to post except to say Happy President’s Day to all the Amurrkin Mumpers. Some folks have it as a holiday and some don’t. I do. For the first time evah in my life. Da bear has never had one of these strange Federal holidays off before.
I’m new. Not to the board, of course, but to the MMP. I never post here, it always seems like a secret special club and I don’t belong. But I couldn’t sleep because the dog was whining all night, the cats were cleaning themselves on my bed all night, and the neighbor teenaged boy is having an all-night marathon sex session with his live-in girlfriend. So here it is 4:43 and I am up.
It’s a holiday here for everyone but school kids. They have their two days off at the end of this week for Rodeo Days. Yes, all the schools shut down for a rodeo. Oh well, delayed gratification, then a 4-day weekend- woot.
Yay for the new gig bein’ reasonable so far Nava! I’ve had a week at my new irkplace and so far, except for some whiners, things are pretty good there. May this remain true for both of us.
Welcome, Alice! I, for one, have just dragged my carcass to the computer, but to be fair, I’ve already showered and dressed and heated up some leftover pizza for breakfast. Back in the olden days when I still worked, I wouldn’t get to post to the MMP till afternoon. This is better. Anyway, welcome to our silly little group. We’re not secret, but we are special, altho some are more special than others… and *they *know who they are.
**Nava **- hope you like the new job, altho your stories are much more entertaining when you hate your boss and/or coworkers.
My day = not much. It snowed over night, but the grass is still visible, and the pavement is just wet, plus it’s already above freezing. I expect before sunset, there will be no white left on the ground. Not that it matters - it’s a holiday here anyway, so traffic will be minimal.
And for those of you who were worried about my report in the last MMP - the new aquarium heaters are working fine and all fishies are alive. I know how much you care.

Blurf in progress. I have a dentist appointment in a little while. I thought I’d have to play taxi again today, but fortunately work schedules interfered. I’ll have to cancel my coffee date this afternoon in the interest of saving gas. This is actually not a bad thing since there’s a lot of Little Things I need to take care of today.

The perpetual road construction hell just north of here ate a tractor cab yesterday morning. Resultant fire melted the beams of the overpass on the third level–looks like we get to find new ways onto the highway for a while.

Busy weekend was busy, today is turning out to be just the same but at work rather than at home. I have a load of things I need to get done before Friday when I’m off on my travels. Having got through the weeeknd’s “to-do” list, I now have a mini-list for each night of the week just to make sure I don’t forget the essentials like finding my passport and recharging my Kindle…
Nava, much as I hope you enjoy the new job, I am also sort of hoping for fun stories about mad bosses and idiot co-workers. It can’t be just me who ends up with the likes of Tin Knickers!
Not only is it a holiday that I have to work, the public liberry is closed and I have a book ready for pick up that I’m dying to read. Well, not dying, but looking forward to.
I stayed up entirely too late watching four episodes of Downton Abbey. :o But, you see, it says that they’re going to be taken down on March 6 so I HAVE to watch them all before that!
Now I’m getting ready for breakfast and taking some pictures of my stuff to send off with my applications. Fortunately the sun is shining so I can take the pictures outside even if it is a bit chilly.

I tried irking from home today, but the project I’m working on does not lend itself to such an endeavor. I’m updating a rather involved spreadsheet that requires multiple large screens, which only exist at the orifice. I thought I could manage by doing it on multiple laptops at home. So, I’s at irk anyway.
