It's Monday Which Means It's Time For The MMP

Goodness, I don’t know what’s wrong with me! Before 9:30, I emptied and refilled the dishwasher, cleaned the kitchen counters, vacuumed, including moving some furniture, watered all my plants, cleaned the cat box, and hauled a load down for laundry. Oh, and I made an appointment to have my glasses done - tomorrow afternoon, I should have a clear view of life again. Yay!!

Now I think I’ll assume the knit position. I finished the afghan last night and started a hat. Off I go…

Is the background inthis picture too busy?

More than too busy, I think it would provide better contrast if it didn’t include any clear beads.

You know guys, I can recycle stories from before I came here, or tell you stories of the Bros’ jobs… I’m sure I can find ways to help you stay entertained without having a sucky boss myself!

Sup, Alice! Welcome aboard. This is my favorite bit of the vast landscape that is the Dope. Hope you stick around! Watch out for the goat tho. he’s kind of an ass.
:stuck_out_tongue:
Gotta get the house put back in order, run some errends & possibly going to go visit a friend today. Back to reality I suppose. Seriously, thanks all for your good vibes, conga-rats and well wishes, they mean the world!

hugs to the blurfy. Monday will be over before you know it!

You weren’t supposed to come back in here until you had pictures for us, young lady! :stern gaze:

meep Sorry! I’ll get right on that!

This…

Oh because I forgot - Congrats again janis_and_c0!

Last night the cornish games hens were delish! mr emsate like a viking” as he put it and pretty much sucked the bones clean on both birdies. The glaze was a huge hit so we will be doing them again if I see them on sale soon.

And because Taters asked so nice for the glaze recipe here goes:

2 table spoons of good Balsamic Vinegar
2-3 Big dollops of Apricot preserves (depends on how big your birds are)
small pat of butter
Good splash of Cointreau (orange juice also works)

Melt the butter, add in the orange juice/liquor then add the preserves. Heat slowly until the preserves are melted then add in the Balsamic and mix together.

I got the birds roasting for about 20 mins before I added the first glaze. The Balsamic keeps it from being overly sweet. I just seasoned the birds with salt, pepper, garlic powder and thyme. A little bit of cayenne would be good in the glaze also I think.

Later peeps!

Hi Alice! Was looking at old vacation pics the other day and thought of you.

day off, gonna amble about and have adventures with the Wife today. But first, breakfast!

Yeah, it’s hard to see the fork against all those beads.

I walked out of the dentist with a suspicious possible cavity. I was able to put the appointment for that off until April because I am po’. Now I need to catch up on a few things *before *I play Skyrim. I had the same problem when I started playing Oblivion. Those games tend to eat my soul and my free time. You never think it will happen to you until it does. shakes fist at Culinary Boy who introduced me to the Elder Scrolls series

Good morning. I am up. The dogs have done their business and have been fed and watered.

Hubby is at work and I’m am enjoying the peace and quiet. I don’t know why, but I feel like I’ve been run over. I am so tired and I don’t have any right to be. I know I didn’t sleep well at all and had many disturbing dreams; none of which I remember.

Not much on the books for today. Laundry and some little things. I did take chicken breasts out early this morning to defrost. They shall be prepared for dinner tonight.

Thanks for sharing the recipe, **ems. ** I can’t wait to give it a try.

Welcome, **Alice. ** I hope you like it here.

Don’t listen to them. I like it.

I think this is my second (perhaps third?) MMP ever, so I’ll just sneak in behind Alice here…

I had a really productive day planned, but my 9am phone call cancelled (at 9:47, natch), leaving me sitting around sort of thinking about maybe possibly eventually doing some work, after I’ve finished reading the internet and trolling around Amazon for things to add to the baby registry. At least I know my accountant won’t cancel her appointment at 1pm, so I do have a deadline for eventually getting out of my pajamas.

Happy Monday to everyone with days off, and curses for those of you who have to work (what are you doing, gotpasswords? I’m imagining you sitting all alone in a darkened bank, twiddling your thumbs).

Well, the liberry is open today so I can pick up my book after irk. Huzza!

Blurf. Have I mentioned recently that I hate colds?

Your attention please! I have an important announcement.

MY TAXES ARE DONE!!!

I knew y’all would want to know.

MOOOOOM glad all the fishies are warm and alive.

StickyBuns it’s a bit busy. It was kinda hard for me to see Cthulhu at first. Then again if you’re goin’ for a “Where’s Cthulhu” look it would be fine.

Naw, the glass globs are just lying there, doing nothing, not busy at all. Actually, I like the picture. They way the globs are arranged give the impression of a neck. (Maybe I’m a bit weird.)

Yes, the picture is too busy. Additionally, the beads make the fork look like plastic. However, the fork is coooooool.

President’s Day - meh. I have it off but I have every Monday off because I’m a class scheduling genius! However, 2 of the 3 places I need to get medical records from are closed today which is annoying because now I’ll have to miss my Chem lecture tomorrow to get the records.
I have come to the conclusion that the headache is caused school because I avoided homework all weekend and the headache got much better. I’ve been working on homework for a few hours now and the headache is getting worse. Is there an official diagnosis and treatment for Climatology generated pain?

Still, I will go for the MRI to make the school doctor happy because she doesn’t seem to think that Climatology causes month-long headaches. Pfft. Don’t they teach anything in medical school these days?

Today being President’s day reminded me of a stupid holiday story I have, which some of you may have heard before.

Back in 2002, I was at work, all by my lonesome. See, it was Patriot’s Day and we had it off but we needed someone to man the phones. Since I had no kids or life, it was decided that I’d do it. All day long I got phone calls from pissed off customers who couldn’t understand why we were closed. One guy said, “your damn football team finally wins the Super Bowl and you have a state holiday for it?!?!?!” Not being a football fan, it took me a few minutes to figure out what the hell he was talking about. He didn’t believe me when I told him we were celebrating the other Patriots.
Swampy - Good, it’s about damn time! You had the refund sent here, right?
Sweetie came home last night after working 50 hours in 4 days and spending 2 nights in hotel rooms in two different states. He was tired. I was tired too because I spent the whole day cleaning the house (he was THRILLED…then he started complaining that he’d have nothing to do on his days off). So we went to bed at 8pm. I’m amazed the dogs let us. I woke up at 4:30 am and he was out in the living room playing Star Trek Online. Apparently having to get up super early all weekend for crew calls caused him to get up at 3:30 this morning. Poor guy. At least today is a short 10 hour day and then he has 3 days off.

**Tugig **- that report you asked me about yesterday - apparently not a happy ending:frowning:

Afternoon, all. Welcome, Alice!

First sort of bad night but my MiL is here so there’s two and a half adults versus four kids, which is a good ratio.

Very tired. I should figure out what we’re having for dinner and give the newborns a cruel, evil, mean bath. I will not be loved anymore.

The girls are up 125 grams each since Friday, so they’re gaining nicely. We’re pleased.

Who’s the half adult?
