Just had lunch. Gonna make some soap in a little bit. Right now I’m considering wandering over to the eye doctor to have them peer into my right eye. Wifey poked me in the eye with her finger this morning as we were thrashing our way out from under the bed covers. It’s still sore and my vision is kinda blurry 5 hours later.
Of course the vision in that eye is always kinda blurry anyway. It’s the same traItorous eye that tried to self-distruct a couple of years ago and cost me several thousands of dollars to have the retina lasered back into place. It’s not my favorite body part these days.
Anyway, I’m sure if I do go in they’ll look at it and say yeah, it’s scratched, but there’s really not much we can do about it. It’ll heal up on it’s own. Just keep your weight off it for 72 hours and pay the girl $200.00 on the way out."
Glad the little’ens are doing well LiLi, but I’m surprised they don’t like baths. All our littles loved splashing in the water.
I think I’ll go fix the terlet. The arm that raises the flapper thingie (technical term) rusted in half last night. I think I have a spare in the garage. Yeah, I keep everything.
To my total suprise, even though I got up ludicrously late (mid afternoon no less), the doctor actually not only gave me an appointment, but actually came to the house to see me! Almost immediately! Was expecting it to be a ehhhh… call back tomorrow and we’ll think about it… but nope! So I have a nice new sick note, and lots of lovely drugs. I like my doctor.
Still really need to get some kind of habit for sleep, this is getting most silly. I might have to just emigrate to somewhere where the local clock matches my internal clock, if there is such a a place.
Glad to hear tiny ones are getting slightly less tiny LiLi! I know I lost over a pound in my first two weeks, freaked everyone out! Been stuffin’ my face happily since though, so that’s ok. I was a big, fat, late babby.
Thanks for all the his and welcomes. I finally got some sleep in, now ready to par-tay. Not really, but awake. Made a yummy sandwich on asiago cheese bread with roast beef and turkey, cheddar cheese, and avocado. Mmmm. Don’t hate.
In my experience, they do like after they can sit up, but all our newborns have hated water.
I’m the adult half. I’m here, but sleep-deprived, recovering from surgery, and nursing about six hours a day. I am not as useful as an adult who has a functioning brain and is allowed to lift more than ten pounds.
We’re going to eat yummy food that other people have brought for us for dinner. We’ve got ratatouille, sweet potato gratin, and brownies. I love our friends.
I threw together a yummy supper - poke chops, twice-baked N.O.T., cabbage-n-onions, and pears. What we need to top it off is a pan full of warm brownies. Wish I had some. Bummer.
But now it’s time to assume the knit position. Catch ya tomorrow!
[QUOTE=iftheresaway] gotpasswords? I’m imagining you sitting all alone in a darkened bank, twiddling your thumbs).

I’m in an internal IT security department. The retail branches may have been closed, but there’s still all sorts of developers, programmers, support engineers, etc. Not to mention the people who keep all of the e-commerce, ATMs, debit and credit transactions working on a busy shopping day.
Goonie (a nickname in progress) if I weren’t full of grilled sausages, boiled peanuts, steak, sweet N.O.T., sallit and cheesecake (somebody brought cheesecake to men’s night!) I’d hate you. The sammich sounds nummy!
Yeah, I’m home from men’s night at the church house. ‘Twas a good time made better by the addition of cheesecake. I also managed to herd a group of the men to set up tables for tomorrow’s Shrove Tuesday shindig. Heh. I had spoken with our Junior Warden, a loverly and wonderful lady by the name of Eloise, who gave me the count for tomorrow along with the number of tables and chairs to set up. I began my herdin’ by sayin’, “Eloise says we need fourteen tables, six chairs to the table, set up for tomorrow night.” Within 15 minutes the tables and chairs were set up. So, I have decided that from now own when I want folks to do sump’n at the church house I shall begin with “Eloise says.” Them’s magic words apparently!
Added recipe to blog. That sounds yummy. I have some chicken thighs in the freezer. maybe I’ll make a couple of them with a glaze.
Busy, busy, busy day off.
Electrician came to give me an estimate and fixed the problem - for free!!! He didn’t have much to do today, apparently, and wandered through the circuit a couple of times until he found a piece that was broken (someone had fixed a spot really poorly). He used part of an extension cord to patch the spot (since he does estimates, he doesn’t carry much with him) and is supposed to e-mail me the estimate for rewiring the circuit. But, yay for electricity in the whole house!!!
Meanwhile, I took the living room apart and cleaned it and also started in on the kitchen. Also, cleaned some in the basement.
Also, went for a couple of walks. Wanted to do my taxes today, but didn’t get there.
Ended up having an* almost* productive day - still working on work stuff, but at least I’m doing it in my jammies watching netflix. Plus I felt the baby move earlier when his daddy was telling him good night, which was pretty exciting (right up until he kneed me in the bladder, of course). Night all!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 45 Amurrkin out with light rain. Today’s high shall be 68 and the rain is supposed to go away this mornin’. So far no creek floodin’ so no looooooooooong commute. Please keep appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed that this will continue. Stoopid creek.
Today is Mardi Gras, Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday and I suppose Partay Day. Thus I shall get my partay on by cookin’ bacon, sausage and pancakes at the church house. I can’t help it. I’m wild by nature. I’ll head over there right after irk so it’s gonna be a looooooong day for da bear.
Now I shall find more caffiene and some brekkie for rumbly tummy. Then, alas, irk purtification shall commence.
BBBobbio, of course you’re not the *only *perv Mumper, but you’re definitely in the top tier. After all, a request for pics isn’t always a request for *that kind *of pic…
I tried to fall back to sleep after **FCD **left for work, but no dice. Today shall include erranding - I’ve got 4 bags of **FCD **wardrobe rejects to deliver to a local thrift store. Some are items that don’t fit, some are items he decided he hated shortly after he got them, most are barely worn, so the supported charity should do well.
I’ve also got an appointment at 1030 to get the new lenses for my glasses ground and installed. I’ll be so glad to be rid of these scratchy nasties. And I’ll be going into my 3rd year with these frames - I just haven’t been able to find any that I like better. Since the skinny square frames are all the rage, there are hardly any specs with large lenses that aren’t icky. And I don’t want the skinny lenses - I want as big a field of view as I can get. So I’ll stick with what I have as long as I can.
What else - I have a $10 Target card, so I may go there just to see what $10 will buy. And **FCD **wants cauliflower with supper, so I need to get some of that. Maybe I’ll think about getting a haircut also…
Then when I come home, I can work on the scarf I’m almost halfway thru. Busy busy me!
