I think the jokes on you. It’d be funny, if not so calamitous.
Abiding in the midst of ignorance, thinking themselves wise and learned, fools go aimlessly hither and thither, like blind led by the blind. – Katha Upanishad
ckalli doesn’t give a shit about policy or government. He’s simply joined a team. He’s a sad, lonley child looking for support and validation from other people on his “team.” He’d rather engage in battle with the enemy (liberals) on behalf of his “conservative team” than actually learn about policy and its effects on people.
Two bits of evidence: He recently said that he’s “happy” for Ivanka because her business is doing well; he has no fucking connection to Ivanka whatsoever, yet because she’s part of his “team,” he gets the feels when she succeeds, and because it supposedly irks his opponents. Also, defending Clotahump in another thread recently, without knowing jack shit about him, other than the fact that libtards here don’t like him. So being happy for Ivanka’s success and standing up for Cloty have fuck-all to do with actually being a conservative. But they do make him feel like he’s part of a team, and that makes him feel good about himself-- so he will stand up and fight for his teammates and be happy when they win. He does this because he so badly needs others on his “team” to give him the same validation that he’s so openly willing to give them. He’s so desperate to feel good about himself, and that’s also why he talks about having the moral high ground over liberals.
His knowledge of policy comes from copying and pasting other people’s words. But by golly, he’s gonna fight so darn hard for his team, so they will all be proud of him! He’s taken some honors classes, dontchaknow! And he’s a man of 19 years! And that honor student man will stand strong for his team! Your “abuse” of him only makes him feel more special, because it means he’s fighting the good fight for his “team.” They will be so proud of him and he’ll be accepted and welcomed and his feelings will be validated. He’ll tell people of how horrible the libtards are here, yet he soldiered on valiantly.
It’s not about politics for people like him, it’s about community. Being accepted. You see the same thing with many people when they first join fundie churches. They’re all-in: religious bumper stickers, t-shirts, hats, volunteering for everything that comes up at church, service 7 nights a week plus Bible study on Wednesday, etc. For many of them, it’s less about faith, and more about connection and validation.
And so it is with people like ckalli. He’s young, he needs to feel like he’s not isolated, he’s desperate for that rush of acceptance, and really wants people on his “team” to respect him. So for whatever reason, he’s chosen to latch himself onto the Trump team, probably because it doesn’t require much thought from him, just bluster and bullshit and kickin’ ass.
So what are you saying, that you’re not a troll, you’re just an idiot?
So 63 million of your fellow Americans are idiots simply because they voted for Trump. You, sir, are a tremendously small-minded, foolish, vindictive, person.
What a lovely piece of psycho-analysis. I’m not a child, I’m 19 years old, old enough to inform myself and know my own policy preferences and beliefs.
I love how you ignore the questions you don’t want to answer. So Trump was joking again when he said politicians were beholden to Goldman Sachs and that he would drain the swamp? Can we just assume then that everything he has said is a joke? When he said he had a sure fire plan to beat ISIS and knew more than the generals that was also a joke? We know that having Mexico pay for the wall was a joke but when he denied knowing about his campaign colluding with Putin to change the Republican platform was that also a joke? Was he joking about them doing it, about him knowing about it or both? Just asking because I apparently don’t get his sense of humor where joking about killing children is apparently funny.
No, saw him firmly reject all those people saying that Obama wasn’t citizen, said it with scorn like he never said any such thing himself.
I do believe you are mis-remembering. Last I saw on the issue from Trump was that he said he would no longer answer queries regarding his birtherism. He said it was a distraction from the more important things. I presume those more important things, of course, were getting elected while lying about everything under the sun.
“Spread”, not originated. You’ve yet to show a cite for your actual claim.
And Trump was making a joke about a future presidential campaign? That’s how you defend eight years of keeping a dumb attack on the sitting president alive? Remember Trump stating he would stop if he was shown the birth certificate? Remember him claiming he would release the solid evidence any day now?
And do you really think Obama should have gone: “I disagree with Mr. Trump on nearly every possible thing, but I cannot support Hillary because of a staffer that was promptly fired for having sent one email spreading the unfounded lie that Mr. Trump, through his campaign has only half-assedly repudiated after eight years of being it’s most main stream champion.”?
Come on, give things a little more thought or you will never climb out of the whole you’ve dug yourself here as unthinking Trump-fan. (And not, having shown some thought on some points doesn’t make this “birtherism is funny yoke, yes?”-shtick any less unthinking parroting.)
Who cares who started the rumor? That’s not the question. Trump spread a racist and evidence-free lie for many years. It wasn’t a joke – he did it seriously. It’s inexcusable, and pathetic and gutless for you to pretend it’s not.
Folks are correct that the originator of the rumor is not super-important compared to who picked it up and ran with it. When Tom Brady scores a touchdown, nobody’s asking, “Yeah, but who sewed the stitches on that football?”
Nevertheless, you’re, and I’m being generous here, mistaken about your cite:
So the smoking gun that Clinton’s campaign started the rumor? A volunteer coordinator FORWARDED an email.
I don’t know if you’re familiar with how email works, but that word “forwarded” tells us something important. Lemme know if you need an explanation.
(Ahem) Video link, at the 2:03 mark…
Your blubbering and abject apology is accepted gracefully.
They are idiots compared to the near 66 million who voted for Clinton and the near 8 million who voted third party candidates. (PDF)
Strange how sTrumpets project on others character flaws displayed by Trump himself.
Not all of them are idiots. Some are racists and bigots of various stripes. Some are extreme nationalists and xenophobes. Some are poor, poorly educated and easily mislead. Some are narrow minded single issue voters, lacking empathy for anyone but their own self interest. Some are chaos monkeys who just want to troll and watch the world burn. Add them all up and you get 63 million who, like you, are the Trump plurality.
If you are comforted by the company you keep, then you need to examine your values more closely and consider how that reflects on you.
I hate to assign homework to you on your spring break, but I encourage you to read up on the Dunning-Kruker effect. You don’t need to write a paper but a thoughtful response would be appreciated.
We all know he won’t write a paper even if it is homework.
“I’m a man, darn it!” Do you also have many leather-bound books, and does your apartment smell of rich mahogany?
Have fun in freshman English today, kid.
You think the 66 million who voted for Clinton are libtards or whatever nonsense phrase you want to use today.
What does that make you?
Yep, you’re correct. 'Twas lame on agent orange’s part, though. No apology, no remorse. And, of course, he lies like a rug so often, it’s hard to know when he’s sincere.
Indeed. Naiveté I can understand, but the plagiarism thing was a big warning flag. And he only “owned it” after first denying it and then challenging us to find more examples and then ignoring the whole thing once examples started to pile up.
All those “religious freedom” bills the GOP have been promoting have the sole purpose of allowing them to discriminate in the name of religion. There are states putting Creationists on school boards, Dominionists infiltrating all levels of the military, and elected officials demanding that the government promote Christianity above all other religions. All Republican. You’re correct that most of them don’t want people to convert, however - I mean, if they converted, who would be left to lord [sic] it over?
Funny how so many of the conservatives here say that. Almost verbatim, in fact.
In fact, forget the pasta and the cream - just give me the bacon.
Must be groupthink.
In fact you can find pretty much any position you like in the things Trump has said, because he has taken pretty much every position on every topic in recent years, sometimes in rapid succession. So based on his statements he’s a birther but he’s not a birther but he had conclusive evidence that he was going to show us but he wasn’t serious about the whole thing but he’s done with the topic but he’s still investigating but he doesn’t want to talk about it. He can’t show us his tax returns but he will show us his tax returns but what tax returns? He’s going to repeal Obamacare but he’s going to keep most of it but he’s got a brand new plan that will cover everyone at less cost that’s almost finished but he’s still putting together the basic ideas but wow, isn’t healthcare complicated? Etc etc etc
Ha ha ha.
He keeps saying this, and it never stops being funny!
Mainly because it reminds me of my six year old stomping at her older brother when she says “I’m NOT a baby!”
