Just like the Democrats who say Cheeto in Chief, Agent Orange, Il Douche, and a variety of other childish putdowns?
Although I haven’t heard him refer to to the party as anything other than Democrats or what they prefer to be called. Guess that makes him better than the opposition.
First off…it would help if you had a clue as to what Tea Party conservatism was. In a nutshell, Tea Party was conservatism that was pushing toward libertarianism. There were no neo-nazis or Klan involved. The liberal media built that idea up in order to discredit the Tea Party groundswell, which they felt (correctly) was a true political threat to Obama. The Tea Party was never an organized movement of any kind, it was simply conservatives wanting less government interference.
And I gotta love your last sentence. It is a perfect example of the lack of common sense displayed by liberals in general. You claim that adaher fabricates things but is worthy of more respect than I am, whereas I have never fabricated anything. And when I have been proven wrong, I have admitted it and retracted the original statement. But what the hell, why let facts get in the way of a good rant, right?
I vote non-troll. He reminds me of Qin during his “everyone’s a cuck” phase, in fact. Let’s keep him.
I suggest posting in Great Debates and the other more civil portions of the board.
No, you disappear from the thread and pretend it never happened. You are completely incapable of posting honestly or accurately on political topics - which is weird, because your non-political posts are perfectly normal and often interesting.
So if you voted for Trump you’re either a numbskull, selfish, xenophobic, bigoted, lacking empathy, or a chaos monkey. Don’t you liberals get it that you will never insult people into changing their minds? All of what you wrote is vile and false; there were some fringe characters supporting Trump, and there were some fringe characters who supported Hillary, like the national head of the Communist Party USA, which of course the media airbrushed away. You really are a tremendously hateful person if you believe that of all 63 million of your fellow Americans. I know some liberal Clinton voters I get along fine with, including my own mother. And I have never described the 65 million Americans who voted for Hillary as being a bunch of America-hating communism-worshipping hippie-haired ultra-leftist high tax-loving zealots, as that would be an unfair and inaccurate caricature. Some people were very scared of Trump (although I feel unreasonably so because of a Democratic scare campaign), realized Hillary wasn’t perfect but wanted her because they agreed with her liberal agenda, not because they’re evil. I’m sorry you’re such a bitter person.
I didn’t say the Tea Party was made up of neo-Nazis or Klanners. I said the Tea Party simply has crazy political ideas.
I said that you, personally, have embraced being lumped in with neo-Nazis and the KKK. I’m still mystified as to why you thought that was a good idea.
Well, adaher has an advantage in that he’s actually a nice guy. You pull your special snowflake “everyone here is a librul and is so mean to me” schtick on a routine basis, whereas he’s grown-up enough to have fun debating issues for their own sake. That’s why I pointed out that I have a lot more respect for him than you… even if we set aside your defenses of the term “wetbacks” and so on.
As you’ll notice, the person I’m talking about makes references to liberalism being the foundation of Nazism. You think that’s more dignified than “Cheeto in Chief?”
By the way, I think all those names are childish and speak to the weak character of the people who use them. But the lesson here, young man, is that you can be dignified or you can be childish. If you engage in name-calling, it is childish, no matter who did it first. Did your parents not tell you this in third grade?
You admitted to responding falsely (also known as lying) to try and spin me up (also known as trolling).
So yes, you’re an admitted liar. I’m still curious if you have a defense or explanation for your usage of ethnic slurs, though… maybe it’s just that you’re a hateful bigot?
This, of course, wasn’t “airbrushed away” – it was reported extensively. But almost no one cares, because communists in the US have never had any extensive influence, and have never been responsible for mass atrocities in America.
White supremacists like David Duke (who Trump at first pretended to not know who he was, despite criticizing him openly years before), on the other hand, are responsible for most of the worst atrocities in American history, including slavery, near-genocide of Native Americans, mass expulsion and forced migration, mass violence and terrorism against black people, segregation, Jim Crow, and much, much more. Thus their overwhelming and enthusiastic support for Trump is bigger news, especially when he spent years spreading evidence-free and racist lies about Obama, called Mexican immigrants “rapists”, said a judge was biased because of his ethnicity, and much, much more.
But to answer your new line of thought (since the other didn’t to go so well, I presume) yes I do. I think the question of whether Nazism came out Liberal/Democrat thought versus Conservative/Republican thought is worthy of debate and discussion.
Much more than Cheeto in Chief, Il Douche, and the like.
A mod thinking or calling a poster a troll in the Pit doesn’t a ban make, though. There’s two very regular posters who have been posting for years who I am convinced are trolls (curlcoat and Fotheringay), but it doesn’t mean they’ll be banned any time soon.
Yes, I believe that the overwhelming majority of Trump supporters are ill informed and selfish, but NOT evil. The rest are bigots, xenophobes, and chaos monkeys.
I’m acquainted with a few Trump supporters and I’m happy to say that none of them are in the minority group (to the best of my knowledge).
And may I remind you, the day you joined this board, you started mis-characterizing and lumping all liberals together. So don’t act so shocked, hurt and deeply saddened about how others react to you and your fellow Trump supporters.
But I’ll tell you what, because I really want to believe that you genuinely are hurt by how others have called you out on your positions on various topics, and I really want to believe that you and other Trump supporters on this board want to be able to have a calm and reasoned dialogue about various issues without the insults or angry accusations, I’m considering opening a new thread topic where I will try to get people to contribute in a civil and more tempered tone. Not sure how that will go but you’re welcome to join and bring your friends and let us see if we can have a kumbaya moment. I’ll start it when I have a little time to put some thought into how to best frame it. Okay?
There we go. That’s a perfectly reasonable and the correct thing to do, to have a civil discussion between conservatives and liberals on major policy issues without ad hominem attacks. That’s what democracy is all about.
However, I am saddened that you believe those acquaintances of yours who supported Trump or ill-informed or selfish.
