High school senior's summer work plans

Yeah, I pretty much told him that. Said how proud I was of everything he had achieved, and understood how hard he would be working in college, that if he wanted to take it easy this summer I was fine with it. Reminded him that if he found himself short of cash, that would be something he would need to learn from as it would be the result of his decisions.

He was cool with that.

Now on to the youngest child…

Anything after that is the annoying nagging of a parent who can’t understand their child is an adult now. Part of me wishes I were a little more wild in my youth so that nagging would have had a point. Instead, it basically felt like I was being punished for being good.

Yes yes a thousand times yes. It sucked. :frowning:
[sub]Tip for parents: when your non-drinking, non-smoking, non-drug using, non-anything bad 15 year old goes to her friend’s house to watch a cheesy wrestling pay per view once a month and that’s literally about IT for how often she goes out, don’t start screaming at her that she’s never home anymore.[/sub]

Of this, I approve wholeheartedly.

I second the many other people that are saying let him make his own choice this summer. You’ve gotten him this far, perhaps by pushing but also with a lot of hard work on his part, a little slack won’t ruin him. My son should be doing so well.
