I just went ahead and pulled out the posts that refer to names for this group of Dopers and tried to include all of them along with any that refer to the naming issue.
If you have a strong preference for one or two in the batch, please say so. If enough people actually care enough to post a name for consideration maybe we can go to a voting stage, or engage jasg’s assistance.
Anyway, here’s the crop as of this morning:

Don’t you think we need a name for our gang?
Surely something’s better than Zeldar’s Zanies, right?

I like Geezer Graffiti (Geezers’ Graffiti?). Geezers’ Wheezes works, too.

Gotcha. Do you care for “Commedia del Farte’”, perhaps?

Commedia del Farte con Asteism, Badinage, Persiflage, Raillery & Repartee
This endeavor needs a nice long important sounding name.

Commedia del Farte con Asteism, Badinage, Persiflage, Raillery & Repartee sounds good to me.
Maybe stick Paronomasia, Whimsy and Innuendo in there.

Like it. It might bear a tweak or two from some of the relics here, as in “Frolic with the Fossils” as a shout out to those Armenians who are in the news every hour.

$10 says we’re still batting name possibilities around this time next year. Although I like Pheezers on Stun.

I like Pheezers on Stun also. Besides, think of the t-shirt ink cost savings. …grabs Yllaria’s $10 bill…

For an organizatuion of old farts, I submit: “Frolicsome Flatulent Fossils”

Perhaps I missed a consensus on a group name, but here is an article with a few more in addition to Pheezers/Freaky Geezers…

So ruling out such terms as geezers, blue hairs and old farts, how do you refer to people in this age group, and beyond, without offending them?

Some other possibilities include vintage, classic, masters, seasoned, legends, time travelers, prime timers, and honorable mentions or just honorables.
If it were up to me, I would go with something that connotes both experience and coolness.
Anyone else up for “vintage dudes?”

Here in Portland we’re called “Honored Citizens”. But it’s Portland, so there’s that. Better than “Senior Slackers”, I guess. Or “Heritage Hipsters”.

Dude! You may have paved the way for 4H! Highly Honored Heritage Hipsters. Who would bitch at that? We could brag to anybody that “We’re in the 4H Club.”

Highly Honored Heritage Hipsters – Part 2
The other thread is getting pretty big and may be too hard to wade through for those who haven’t posted in a while.
So there’s this for that purpose. The other thread is still active as of this post.

I nominate next week’s thread to be titled “Ask Zeldar”.

Here it is some 13 hours later on a new day with rising outside temps and a question for the gang. At the rate the posts are building up in this thread it may soon be desirable to start yet another for the benefit of the participants in the first two.
The question is: do we want to come up with a consensus name for this crowd?
Even if we don’t, what would be a good title for Episode 3?
And would any of you like to be the thread starter for the next one?
#79 Today, 09:33 AM

Sounds like you’re not approving of “Ask Zeldar”. How about “Zeldar’s Zenility Zone: Timeless Enlightenment Occurring In Time” ??

Zeldar, In my head, I pronounce “Vee’-tah Bee-Ya’-tah”. How it is truly pronounced in Latin may be “wee-ta”? but let’s not worry about that unless a true Latin scholar appears here with scoldings.
Yes, you are the link on these threads. What’s your preference for the thread title or group name?

If it were left to me, I suppose I could be persuaded to call it (and us) Gossipy Geezers, or something that would imply frivolity and an older age group appeal.
