Hilarious Answering Machine Message.

It’s supposed to be real

I have my doubts but it sure is funny.

That is hilarious, but the captioner needs to move to Australia and re-take the spelling classes he clearly did not attend or do his homework for, all the while having his parents make excuses for him.

I doubt this is real though, especially since it never actually gives any opportunity to get through to anyone seriously.

Snopes identifies the false message as supposedly coming from Pacific Palisades High School in California in 2002.

The spelling mistakes are horrendous, the woman says you’ve reached “your school” which is ridiculous, and there’s unnecessary snark against immigrants towards the end. Not funny!

Yes, yes, and yes . . . but it’s still hilarious.

I laughed, but then practically my whole family is in education.

I went to a ridiculously underfunded county school in one of the bottom states for education, where we had no equipment, pathetic extracurricular programs (when existent) and teachers who were dumber than shit and more interested in bullying and disciplining students than teaching them. This isn’t funny to me, because I can imagine them thinking the same way that whoever recorded this thinks, even though they quite clearly were the problem.
