I’ve heard that it’s not actually called Gym-nice-tics.
She’s 37 and is not a data-point worth mentioning, as she is extremely rare in gymnastics. It is an anomaly in gymnastics, not something others would likely achiever.
As for 20? Yeah, it is doable. Not a certainty, but doable if she wants to.

My line of thinking tends to be more, “Poor kid! Her entire life has been subsumed by this sport and the ridiculous expectations forced on her means she has absolutely no perspective on how amazing it is to get a silver medal in the Olympics.”
Heard an interesting article on NPR about how silver medalists tend to be extremely disappointed on the podium (“I can’t believe I didn’t get the gold”) while bronze medalists tend to be extremely jubilant (“Haha! Look at all those suckers who didn’t get medals!”).
This. Maroney is usually the best in the world on vault and everyone expected her to win gold. That’s gotta be a huge disappointment.
The Russian gymnasts were crying after practically all of their routines during the team and all-around competitions.
That is absolutely an “I-will-not-cry-I-will-not-cry” performance. Look at the way she looks up at the ceiling and then down at the floor - anywhere in the world but at a human face, least she totally lose it.
