Hilarious voice mail message

Have you guys heard this?

Basically, it is a story of a guy who is leaving a message for his boss on his voice while the guy is driving in traffic. He witnesses an accident and says what is happening, which is just the funniest thing.

Snopes isn’t sure if it is true or not, but I got a good chuckle out of it, either way.

I bet we’ll find it’s a radio joke. He’s mentioning an awful lot of details.

He even reports what version of the Bible the old lady hit him with. :dubious:

I suppose his knowing which version of the Bible gives it away as a hoax, but boy, it still is pretty funny to listen to!

The nature of the descriptive details make me think it’s fake. Like, he says the “…guy gets out of the car. He has a tie and a cigarette in his mouth.” Maybe if he was describing the guy to a police officer he would mention the cigarette and the tie, but not to his boss.

And it’s not just 4 old women in the car–it’s 4 stereotypical old women. One looks like Mother Goose, one is beating him with an umbrella, and another is beating him with a bible. Too many suspect details make me think it’s fake.

In the first part of the recording he says that he’s going to “3768” and later mentions Dallas.

A quick web search shows that Jack in the Box #3768 is located in Denton, Texas. Denton is a suburb of Dallas (40 miles away per Mapquest.)

I think that it’s real.

He does mention the version of the Bible, but he says “NVI” not “NIV”

I heard that on the radio last night while driving home from work. It cracked me up- that laughing!

I do think it’s fake, though, but pretty well done.

I don’t know if it was real but it was sure funny. Little Old Mother Goose lookin’ woman.

I’m listening to it again - lord that is funny! I hope it is real!

That’s a lot to keep in your mouth all at once…

Come on, forget logical inconsistencies - it sounds like a very ordinary voice-acting performance.
