Thanks to Trump, the election is less about policies and has become a choice between voting for or against an unhinged, ignorant lunatic.
Substantively though, he’s the most isolationist candidate we’ve had in the post-war era.
His stance on foreign policy is all over the place. Killing the families of terrorists, and torturing suspects, aren’t isolationist policies at all. Nor is the idea that we should have kept some troops in Iraq.

2016: The Staples Election 
I saw that speech on telly, and I was impressed, don’t know about the live experience. Contrasted it in my head with Trump’s foreign policy speech, which I caught a bit of as well, and the difference was night and day. Trump was all “read sentence from left teleprompter, pivot head, read sentence from right one, pivot, read…” Clinton was engaging and animated, came across as invested in issues, and actually quite smart.
Probably the smartest thing she said, to me, was “I don’t have all the answers” - but we’ll see how that’s spun by the opposition, I’m sure.
You cannot use the substantive in discussing Trump. He has no knowledge on any subject nor does he have the slightest interest in becoming better informed. He reads right wing conspiracy sites and dismisses anything that doesn’t fit his opinion. Isolationist today? Isolationists don’t repeatedly ask why they can’t use nuclear weapons.
Nor does anyone but a headstrong idiot.
It is always interesting to see how the sides paint their opponents. The GOP makes up crazy lies and half-truths. The Dems mock and joke.

Isolation is not pacifism. Our country was arguably at its most brutal fighting wars when we were isolationist. Isolationist is closer to “don’t give a shit” than “no war!”
Well, that is Rasmussen, assume about 2 or 3 points more in favor of Clinton. As for the former pollster, it seems that the poll is from New York. Only useful to report that Trump is certifiably deluded for thinking that New York is in play.
Average lead is about 6 points.

Well, he’s had a lot of those, from debt limits, to trade deals, to changing politics. A typical politician behaving like a typical politician should not shock us. Let’s just hope we don’t fall for it ever again.
