It’s always a big deal because it makes it difficult to win over anti-trade Democrats. Normally the Republican can’t win those voters because Republicans are free trade, but with Trump going full-on protectionist and apparently meaning it, that slice of voters has somewhere else to go.
I think this time the media may not be making up the horserace like they usually do. The data driven folks don’t seem to know how to deal with the large number of undecideds and third party voters. Silver’s model probably does the best job of incorporating that uncertainty, whereas other modellers just see “6 point Clinton lead” and think Trump will have a tough time making that up. It’s certainly not easy, but when you’ve got one fourth of voters needing to make a final decision on election day that creates a ton of uncertainty even if polls show her with a decent sized lead on election day.
It is with great sadness that we note that our beloved moderator, Jonathan Chance, is stricken with throat chlamydia. With my accustomed good taste and propriety, I refrain from any inquiry as to how a common STD takes place in an oral context, and will sternly disapprove of any sniggling, juvenile “jokes” about such a tragic situation.

So, it’s bullshit. And the FBI’s employees are apparently complaining enough to Comey that he felt it necessary not only to write this memo, but release it publicly as a rebuke to the Republicans in Congress who are casting aspersions onto the man and the FBI in regards to this matter.

Maybe not. He, himself, emphasized that his supporting staff was unanimous in the conclusion. He may have wanted to knife Hillary, but couldn’t get away with it. To my eye, he got as much editorializing out of it as he could get away with.

Trump will probably take AZ but his antics fired up the Latino vote, which means he’d better damn well turn out the white vote. The danger for Trump is that if pol numbers begin to sag badly enough, then it’s entirely possible that lots of infighting will ensue, and there will be divisions and friendly fire over what to do to get the lead back.
This is the one huge advantage that Clinton has: a truly nationwide campaign that is extremely well coordinated. As badly as she can sometimes appear on camera, the campaign hasn’t panicked, hasn’t fallen apart like Trump’s has on several occasions. When Hillary falls in the polls, the strategy keeps going. In other years against other candidates that might not necessarily work, but it can be effective when running against a rookie like Cheetoh Jesus. When Trump melts down and his poll numbers collapse, the Donald, the family, and his inner circle spazz out and make things worse. And as they do, they fail to notice that there are more leaks to plug than there were previously. Trump has been lucky enough to survive two campaign staffer meltdowns. He can’t afford a third - he’d simply not have enough time to recover.
