Hillary Clinton's Presidential Campaign Discussion

Trump replaced his top staff in Florida today. In case anybody cares. I bet their team is serious now!

Sean Hannity had Julian Assange on his show. That shows you just what Assange is all about.

No fan of Hillary he.

The NBC Commander in Chief forum was a total hit piece on Hillary. Matt Lauer let Trump lie about his support for the Iraq war without fact checking him. Then he spent the first ten minutes of the COMMANDER IN CHIEF forum attacking Hillary over her emails, then the first “question” was yet again another question about her emails. Then whenever she tried to answer questions, Matt Lauer repeatedly interrupted her. He’s getting blasted on Twitter.

My opinion, he did her a favor. He asked her all the questions that I see on FB under the heading “why don’t they ask her about X?!?” and she knocked them back solidly, didn’t lose her cool, and got stronger and stronger as the meeting went on.

Lauer certainly seemed to give a very biased performance in Trump’s favor. What’s interesting is that usually Republicans are at the other end of that situation and the moderators don’t get the kind of criticism Lauer is getting.

This POLITICO piece about Hillary’s secret weapon (an analytics genius) made my day–nay, my month: Hillary Clinton’s ‘Invisible Guiding Hand’ - POLITICO Magazine

Both of them?

So what exactly has spending hundreds of millions of dollars done for Clinton that spending nothing wouldn’t have?

Yawn

Big staff in every state that matters, tons of voters registered, tons of trained workers ready to get voters to the polls on election day.

You’d think that would get her a bigger lead than what Obama had over Romney at this point, given that Trump is spending very little and spending it all “wrong” according to the highly compensated pros.

Trump must be defeated, if only to keep the pros employed.

Don’t worry, the polls must be skewed. Again. :stuck_out_tongue:

No, Clinton actually leads Trump by 2-3, and falling. As Nate Silver points out:

Clinton’s lead keeps shrinking:

The lead has shrunk. It’s still significant, and it’s just as likely to expand again as it is to shrink more.

Trump needs to depend on an opening. Hillary also depends on an opening, its right there between Trump’s chin and his nose, his pie-input orifice.

538 has the lead at 3.8 right now.

Not a huge lead, far less than it should be, but it’s been pretty stable.

Assange is well aware that Hillary, if she decides to aid Swedish intentions to get hold of him, will be effective at it. Whereas with Trump he might be left alone, since Trump is like a box of (rancid, maggot-ridden) chocolates: you never know what you’re going to get (indifference or sporadic outbursts of hostility).

@ adaher — you’d prefer Clinton to win rather than Trump; do I recall that correctly?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you estimate the “goodness” for the U.S. of various possible 4-year Presidents? I might come up with something like
Biden 9
Clinton 8.5
Sanders 7
Christie 5
Kasich 4
Cruz 1.5
Rubio 1
Trump -3.5

Given the enormity of the competence gap between Clinton and Trump, this election is surely the most important of our lifetimes. The U.S.A. is faced with an existential crisis.

This is not the time to debate whether we like how Hillary combs her hair. Heck, she could confess to murder and it would still be clear to all rational observers that they should campaign as vigorously for her as possible!

Hillary has the ultimate weapon- Donald Trump’s mouth. If Trump performs in the first debate the way he did in the Matt Lauer farce last night, he’ll put himself out of his own misery. No way did he “win” the night last night. Hopefully, the moderators in the debates will be more competent and fair than Lauer was last night, but even still Trump shit the bed several times, praising Clinton, damning the generals, and agreeing with his old tweet that sexual assault in the military was to be expected. Last night’s audience was puny, the debate’s will be HUGE. Plus he’ll be on camera for an hour and a half, not a lousy half hour. He’ll be answering Hillary’s followups, not an overmatched moderator.
