Alt-right can’t decide if she just insulted or complimented them.
If you don’t stop freaking out with worry every time Clinton breathes, you’ll never make it to November.
This is the point that I’ve been trying to make to various friends, family and coworkers (as well as on other forums). I consider myself a Libertarian, at least most of my political ideas fall in line best with them, but I have voted for Republican, Democrat and Libertarian Presidential candidates over the last two decades (1996 was the first year I was old enough to vote). But I have NEVER been afraid (terrified, actually) of what will happen if a certain candidate wins. Trump simply cannot win!!! It would be apocalyptic (and I mean that literally) and would do irreparable harm to this country, our relations with other countries and many Americans would suffer.
He is a maniacal, narcissistic, egotistical (possible sociopath) that must not be elected!!!
I don’t understand all of the anti-Hillary hatred. Sure, she’s very reserved and not warm and fuzzy. She also refused to play the role of the traditional First Lady, which is where I think a lot of the animosity started. I also think that a lot of hatred for Bill Clinton’s alleged indiscretions were directed at her as well. After they left the White House, she began her official ‘political’ career and her ambition intimidated many people.
She is a flawed human being who has made poor decisions at times. But if put under a microscope, what politicians haven’t done the same and often much worse? She is overwhelmingly the most qualified candidate (more so than any we’ve had in the last several elections). Keeping our country running and keeping us safe is the most important role of the President and I certainly think that Hillary can do that and Trump can’t!
There’s a reason that so many Republican leaders are publicly (and even more privately) supporting Hillary and not Trump. That should say all that needs to be said!
I don’t see that as a racial statement, but she sure should have been more diplomatic about her phrasing. To criticize her opponent’s voters is surprisingly not smart from her campaign. I think of her campaign as a well oiled machine, operating with purpose and precision. She’s going to unnecessarily take a few lumps now, and possibly fire up Trump supporters. She should have learned from Obama’s “cling to bibles and guns” statement. Insulting the voters is no step forward.
This is bad. Very bad.
KIRK: Surely Lazarus must realize what would happen if you should meet face to face outside the corridor.
LAZARUS B: Of course he knows, Captain, but he’s mad. You heard him. He’s lost his mind.
LAZARUS B: When our people found a way to slip through the warp and prove another universe, an identical one, existed, it was too much for him.
LAZARUS B: He could not live knowing that I lived. He became obsessed with the idea of destroying me.
LAZARUS B: The fact that it meant his own destruction, and everything else, meant nothing to him.
KIRK: So you’re the terrible thing, the murdering monster. The creature.
LAZARUS B: Yes, Captain. Or he is. It depends on your point of view, doesn’t it?
If those things are not “deplorable”, what is?
No it’s not.
Why’s that?
She was being generous with just half. Her comments might have been triggering, though. Trump supporters need a safe space.
Of course it’s not like those baskets have no overlap.
Some people here have been very hard time recognizing moral leadership.
It’s terrible form.
It’s OK to link the candidate to undesirable individual supporters or groups or ideas, alt-right, KKK, etc.
It’s completely different to directly go and say half your opponent’s supporters are deplorable. Whether it’s true or not doesn’t matter, you don’t do it. It’s completely unnecessary and playing with fire.
I don’t think Trump has even gone that far yet.
Good thing 9/11 is tomorrow.
Now comes bass solo.
Which all belong to us!
Is he going to show us the video of all those Muslims celebrating? Or would that be “bad form”?
Exactly. Apparently, some people think it’s okay to condemn smaller groups of people (arguably unfairly – though I’d say it’s unfair), while larger groups should get a pass (condemning them again being arguably unfair – though I’d say it’s mostly fair).
Beelzebubba, your post sums things up nicely. Spread the word among any swing-state acquaintances you might have!
Is Bohr’s claim there supposed to be a trivial truth, or a great truth?
Clinton: Half of Trump supporters are in ‘basket of deplorables’
That’s not going to help her sinking poll numbers.
They haven’t been sinking. The bounce went away, but she’s been steady since late August at about 4 ahead or so.
