Hillary Rodham Clinton - how should I put this?

Good lord, man, what drugs are you on? It is YOU who has invented someone in your head to hate. You can sling insults at her all you want, it doesn’t make it true. (although I almost admire the phrase “evil replendence” except that you probably meant “reSplendence”)

I still cannot get over how much people are willing to read into a few seconds of expression. Face it, folks, you have NO FUCKING CLUE what is in her head or her heart, and your assumptions are colored completely by your personal animosity for her.

jesus.

stoid

OK stoid I know that we are beating a dead horse with this but since we have now moved on to page 3: it was more than just a few seconds of expression. I was perplexed & annoyed by her half-hearted clapping and demeanor. Apparently I’m not the only one who noticed this. I’ve heard that Clinton is warm in public but cold in private, and that Hillary is warm in private but cold in public. Perhaps it’s true. She does seem incapable of showing emotion. That is not a crime; and she has said all the right things since the attack. But it does send confusing signals when you are incable of getting across your feelings. She behaved poorly during Bush’s speech.

Yeah, c’mon folks! Have you already forgotten how she tried to make fur coats out of those cute dalmation puppies?

Um, unless we’re talking about her interview with Larry King. She had a pretty big chunk of airtime, certainly more than a “few seconds.”

As I stated, I have no personal animosity toward her, and I still thought she seemed bored and unconcerned during both the Bush speech AND Larry King.

I’m going to beat my head against a concrete wall now; I’m sure it will be much easier to convince brick of the basic facts than some of you folks.

Well, Hillary must read the SDMB because this is on her Webpage:
Senator Clinton’s Reaction to President Bush’s Speech Given on September 20, 2001

The President gave a very strong statement of American principles and demonstrated absolute leadership and resolve in his speech. I think the entire country is united, as united as we have ever been. And we have to face up to the challenges that the President outlined, both abroad in our fight against terrorism and here at home. I’m especially grateful for the President’s strong support for New York and for the rebuilding of New York City.

She does know all the right things to say. Now if only she could improve her oratorical skills–like losing that damn monotone.

I thought we covered this?

Would you guys STOP it with the Hillary Bashing already?

I wonder if anyone notices that the people who are attacking Hillary supposedly because she is not showing her ‘unity’ are themselves engaging in attacks on a United States Senator, based on trivial things like what kind of expression she had on her face when a camera happened to pan past her.

Unity works both ways, gang. Later, when the war has toned down, you can get back to you bashing, boring though it seems. If she comes out and says anything that could be construed as an attack on the U.S. or giving aid or comfort to the enemy, criticize her for that.

In the meantime, give it a rest. Sheesh. Some of you must really hate her, deeply and irrationally. Here we are in a new war, with 6000 human being dead in the first battle, and you think Hillary’s vocal talents MATTER?

Get some perspective!

You are right male hormone, you are the king of grammar and syntax. I bow to your slavish devotion to a worthless, emotionless, politically motivated, shrew. Please vote for her over and over, I do not care.

“Slavish devotion”? So far in this thread, it’s the Hillary haters who have shown “slavish devotion”, while her supporters have knocked down all that worhtless ranting by providing solid, reasonable arguments.

By the way, there shouldn’t be a comma between motivated and shrew.

I have never, ever understood the Hillary-Hate. When did it start? Why? It amazes me…

Are you seriously suggesting that we not have strong emotions unless we personally know someone? How about Hitler, Churchill, Mother Teresa, Lincoln, etc ?

The fact that I have strong negative emotions about hillary is based on her actions, her statements, her non-verbal behavior, etc.

Please, like I have taken more than two seconds to review the posts responding to Andro. He started this hijacking (and hasn’t there been enough of that?) with the witty “Fuck away” comment I had no response for. I was caught by a torpedo amidships. In a “rage,” I calculated my equally astute “fuckwad” comment. Then he pointed out my leprechaunic tendencies, bigoted male supplement abuser that he is. No gold for you folks–damn pusillanimous punctuation police.

In the spirit of all this wonderful discussion, I will point out that you are “worhtless”(sic)ly ranting also. "Worht"y arguments are tough to make on this thread. Not for lack of effort, but the whole thread is based on personal perception of attitude, statements, and body language. Why bother mentioning “reasonable arguments,” without actually creating or citing one, eh? Sounds like potential ranting to me.

“Hillary hater?” Yes, we have meetings after the “vast right wing conspiracy” group therapy sessions we all attend. Let me speak to you in your language. BAAA, BAAA, BAAA. See, all better now.

I respect your absolute right to add nothing valuable to all this, and will defend it to the death. looks at his own previous few posts Never mind.

Seriously, peace my peeps. Flame on, Torchy, if you must.
It all seems really trivial now, well, it did before too. Fighting in N. Afghanistan…bye. [/hijack]

And perhaps some work on your reading comprehension skills is in order.

Please point out where I’ve shown any “devotion” to Senator Clinton, slavish or otherwise? And while you’re doing that, please show me where I mentioned that I intend to vote for her for anything? Hello? I don’t live in New York.

Obviously you do care, snookums. You persist in your unreasoning and unflinching hatred and denigration of someone you do not know. Why, I have no clue. But ghod knows, it’s depressing.

Yawn.

I’m gonna go read the TMI thread again until the Contraclintonistas can tell me something that I haven’t been hearing for the last nine fucking years.

I mean, hell, I don’t like them either (though for the completely opposite reasons, usually), but you’ve gotta come up with something more exciting than a grumpy look and a mildly critical assessment of the Bush administration to get me worked up into a self-righteous froth.

Get a hobby. Sheesh.

So basically, I am not allowed to have an opinion on Hillary because it’s a stupid waste of time. Not only am I incapable of supporting her generally and disliking her rhetoric during an interview because everyone must hate her or worship her, but I shouldn’t even bother having an opinion at all.

Am I allowed to have an opinion on Bush? What about Guiliani? Is it okay if I have mixed feelings toward my own Senator Mikulski? Should I check in with this thread first? I definitely want to make sure everyone approves of my opinion, what I base my opinion upon, and whether it’s okay for me to even have an opinion.

(You just heard the sound of six million eyeballs rolling in heads around the world. Hillary’s too. She has the eye rolling thing down.)

Opinions are like assholes, people - we all got them. Whether or not you like mine is about as important to me as whether or not my Great Aunt Helen properly wipes her ass every time she takes a shit.

Sure, you can have an opinion, Sara. But if your opinion happens to be a sweeping conclusion based on totally subjective “Hillary looked like a bitch” evidence, while her actual words convey a message entirely opposite to the opinion you’re asserting, the rest of us are entitled to tell you that your opinion probably sucks.

No, Sara.

I’m saying your opinions (or at least the one in question) are boring, trite, and, yes, played.

Sara:

Sorry about my last post. I must have missed your post on the previous page.

I live in Cincinnati, where Clinton-bashing is something of an official pastime, so this sort of thing really sticks in my craw. I’m a knee-jerk yawner… what can I say?
