Monty, believe me, I wasn’t thinking of anyone on this Board. I was (and am) concerned that there are people in her church who would say she shouldn’t have left her first husband and who are trying to make her feel guilty for doing so.
I’m also whole-heartedly with you on asking her to consider her own behaviour in light of the religion all three of us (and many others around here) are trying to practice.

I don’t like to hammer at people who have revealed vulnerability, and I’d much rather err on the side of mercy than judgement. Sure, H4E royally pisses me off,but it seems to me that she has been the victim of bad teaching by a cult-like fundie church, which are exactly the sort of predatory brainwashers that exploit folks like H4E. It seems to me that, deepdown, H4E is a good person who is doing the best she can by her lights. What she needs is people to set her a good example of mercy and forgiveness, for that, as I understand it, is the crux of the Christian message.
Joe_Cool and JerseyDiamiond, on the other hand, are just plain vicious, unpleasant people who can excuse their lack of charity and awful behavior by the ol’ “I’m not perfect, just forgiven” BS. They are EXACTLY what St. Paul referred to as “sounding brass and clanging cymbals” in 1 Corinthians 13, for although they may have faith to move mountains, they completely lack love for anyone here at the Dope. (And if I were an Inquisitor and this were the reign of Mary Tudor, I’d have their butts at the stake for espousing the Antinomian heresy, but that’s just me.)

I’ve read what she’s said about gays, Mormons, etc. and I’ve spent a lot of time countering that view. Today I also told her that I consider her actions to be sinful. By inflicting deliberate cruelty on another human being, not to mention by saying that she, in effect, deserves death, you’re doing just as badly. I think you got the match and the bonfire backwards.
