Crawling from the Wreckage Dave Edmonds
Every road trip begins with the live version of Bad off the U2 Wide Awake In America EP.
After that depends on what music I’m listening to lately.
As I say about cross country road trips: Sunroof open, windows down, stereo set to Liquidate.
Baby Please Don’t Go by Budgie.
Maybelline by Foghat
Yup. I do not care for that band. But that’s the song that makes me wish I owned a convertible…
Burning Down The House - Talking Heads
Gimme Shelter- The Rolling Stones
Synchronicity- The Police
London Calling- The Clash
Since Highway Star has already been mentioned, I’ll pick Goin’ Mobile.
Shoot To Thrill - AC/DC
I actually have a “Road Trip” mix and track #1 is Born to Run. A lot of others in this thread are on it, as well.
My pappy said son you’re gonna drive me to drinkin’…
I had a rental Mercedes in Germany once. For reasons that aren’t clear to me, I found a radio station playing American oldies. I have a distinct memory of blasting down the autobahn at 120 and cranking up I Get Around by the Beach Boys. That may not be the song I’d pick, but it’s the song I got.
In the states, I’ve had good results with Mack the Knife (the Bobby Darin version) and a cover (don’t laugh) of the Jonny Quest Theme done by the Reverend Horton Heat.
Cause I’m back in black! I’m back in blaaaack!
Either that or Cum on Feel the Noize by Quiet Riot.
“Fuel” – Metallica
ETA: Hard to keep it below the speed limit with that blasting. For almost any value of “speed limit”.
“Ace of Spades” by Motorhead. Try to NOT speed when that intro kicks in, can’t be done.
*Whip it * and Freedom of Choice by Devo
Down In The Park - Marilyn Manson
Killing In The Name - Rage Against The Machine
Bad Habit - The Offspring
This is my go to song for road trips.
Also, California Love by Tupak & Dr. Dre. Best song ever for cruising the streets of L.A. with the windows down.
One more. The Story of My Life, by Social Distortion.
There’s a list, but the first one has to be “Sweet Emotion” by Aerosmith.
