I may have a long car trip coming up in the near future. I’m driving solo, so I’ll need some great driving songs; music that will keep me going over a few thousand miles. So far, I’ll include:
– Queen, “Don’t Stop Me Now”
– Golden Earring, “Radar Love”
– Pink Floyd, “Run Like Hell”
– Martha and the Muffins, “Echo Beach”
– B.B. Gabor, “Metropolitan Life”
– The Knack, “My Sharona.”
– Billy Idol, “White Wedding”
– First Class, “Beach Baby”
– Bon Jovi, “Livin on a Prayer”
– ZZ Top, “Legs”
It’s a short list for now, but I am hoping you can add to it. Be aware that I’m into music up until about 1995; I didn’t pay much attention after that. (True, I’m old.) So with that stated, have you any other suggestions?
At the beginning of the movie Layer Cake - the movie that put Daniel Craig in the running for 007 - he is a criminal who just completed a deal and is driving away from a big estate (I think) - and She Sells Sanctuary by The Cult comes on. Perfect.
