Hmmm...I may be on the Canadian Antiques Roadshow tonight 22/09/05

Not as one of the antiques, I hasten to add…

The webguide for tonight’s show says “Second World War art,” and I’m pretty certain that would be the two diaries with pastels, watercolours and cartoons by POWs in the infamous German “punishment” camp of Colditz Castle.

The little guy who did the evaluation was quite funny–an Englishman, he and his friends had played at “Colditz” when they were little kids in the 1950s–his eyes lit up when he saw my diaries.

It was even more fun just looking over other people’s shoulders to see all the cool stuff (and a certain amount of worthless crap, of course).

Canajuns can catch it on the CBC Newsworld at 8 p.m. (EST). I’ll have to tape it, as I’ll be out at a retirement bash for my boss.

Any Dopers in the US been on the American show? What was the fallout? Did your local antique dealers figure you were “good for more,” and jack up their prices to you?

I missed this when it was first posted - were you on that night? I remembered your thread from last spring and hoped to see it
