Holiday Cards - want one?

I tried this a few years ago on my message board, and it was way fun.

Basically, I sent Christmas cards to whomever gave me their real name and address. I wound up sending 15 or so, I think.

Of course, in return I got a card from them, too. So I think I’ll give it a whirl here. Would anyone here like a Christmas card?*

All you have to do is email me your real name and address! I’ll send them out within the next couple of weeks. Hopefully.

But don’t (please) click on the email button below my post. Email me at holidaycard @yahoo.com. I’ve set up a separate email for it just to ensure I don’t delete them. (You know how it is today; you get an email from “Johnny Five” or someone, and you think it’s some lost pal from the golden years, and it turns out they wanna help you with your tiny, tiny penis.)

That’s it. That’s all you have to do. Email me your name and address, and I promise I’ll send you a card. It’ll be real neat. It’ll have my certified, authenticated signature. You could take it to any art dealer and receive a goodly sum in return. Or you could hock it on Ebay for a buck, minus shipping.

But I digress.

Also, if you’d like to send me one, I’m all for it. Ask me for my address, though; don’t assume I’m going to give it to you just because you’ve given me yours.
*(Hanukkah and Kwanzaa cards are certainly not out of the question, either; please let me know if you would prefer something other than a Christmas or generic holiday card. I will accomodate you if at all possible.)

Heh. Okay, one bump before I go to bed. If I don’t get a response by the morning, I’ll just forget it this year.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I tried to send multiple times and got a delivery failure. I think this is a cute idea though and would like to join in.

Tease !

sigh!

Yahoo wouldn’t let me have that email address. I goofed. The address is actually:

holidaycard2001 @yahoo.com

:o :o

(If ever there was a time to use the blushing smiley…)

(Why 2001? I dunno…)

Great. Thanks.

Oh yeah, I want one. It would be a nice break from all the “Refinance your Mortgage” and “You have already been approved” junk mail that mostly fills my mailbox.

Drat. We need an “evil” smiley.

Oh, and an “angel one,” too.

If dantheman wants to refinance my mortgage, I’d put up with some junk mail…

:dubious:

Okay, got me some new mail! I’ll get those cards out to you as soon as I get stamps.

(Now, if I could only remember where to put the stamp…)

Email sent.

Y’know, we really should do a Christmas card exchange similar to the Valentine exchange (which I hope we’ll be doing again this year).

OTOH, it’s not as rare and delightful to receive a Christmas card as it is to receive a whole mailboxful of Valentines…

OK it worked this time! I love getting mail. :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks!

I like Christmas shopping, to a degree. I like buying stuff for people, even people I don’t know. But Valentine’s? No way. I don’t have a SO, and that holiday is marketed and targeted to couples.

That’s what makes Doper Valentines so much fun – you get dozens from people who think you’re the cat’s meow. It takes some of the sting out of the holiday. (I personally find Christmas a much more depressing holiday to be single during.)

twickster, I see no email from you - did you send to the address in the OP, or the correct one?

Correct email: holidaycard2001 @yahoo.com

Oh, sure, go ahead and humiliate me in front of hundreds of people. You’re out of the will, kiddo.

Curses! I’ve gone from a will to a won’t!

Well, then, I take it back. I don’t want a card. I WANT A PRESENT!

:stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll give you some of my time. Because there’s no present like the time.
