So the firm just had their monthly staff meeting, with the usual fare of donuts, bagels, muffins, fresh fruit and various breakfast beverages. They announced the employee of the week - a real nice lady who is retiring next week. They made some general announcements. We were also promised a special treat this time around.
The “special treat” of the week consisted of two of the female employees (one of which apparently played in the Dixie Chicks’ back-up band) singing Christmas carols. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. People were actually singing along. The singers were making typical band small talk with the crowd, and would initiate applause after a guitar solo. It was easily the strangest occurence I’ve ever witnessed here (and I’ve seen attorneys dressed as KISS for Halloween).
In other news, it’s going to be friggin’ SEVENTY degrees today. WTF?
