Yay on the least icy-ness, taxi, that was a good thing to hear. :slight_smile:

The chilly rain today soaked me to the bone practically on the way in to work. I was glad to get home this evening, though, and took a nice nap beneath my quilt before fixing a cup of Irish Breakfast tea (which is very good stuff, btw!). The recipe for the soup looks very good indeed, FCM; think that will be the next soup I make. I still have some split pea from Sunday, though. Boy was that good!

It isn’t Firday yet, is it ?!

My dad got layed off yesterday. The whole company is shutting down. He’s got an interview with the son of one of the original owners. I’m hopeful. Mom started up another discussion of ‘what do you do now that you don’t believe in God?’ sigh Same thing I’ve always done, Mom, seeing as he’s never talked to me.

I sold my couch/futon and a few other pieces. She’s going to come pick it up later this week and pay me the rest. That helps. I just wish someone would take the bookshelves already. And the AC. I may list the AC in another category.

We took the first load over to the storage unit. We’re hoping it’s big enough. It’s going to be tight, let’s leave it at that. I have my computer area to pack up (which is what I’m supposed to be doing now) and the hall closet, although most of that will be going into the dorms with me. We’ve moved the two heavy cabinets, but we still have the file cabinet and my kimono drawers.

I’m making progress. Eight days to go. =O.O= <— scared S’tyger

I ought’a pay so I can get rid of the stoopit ads… the subscription expired during the holidays and I was barely touching email so I didn’t re-pay on time.

As expected it’s feast or famine here. There’s been nothing going on and now I have ten things to do that must all be done and once and must be done by me. Oh well, at least it seems like business will be starting to pick up again soon.

A bit of a rough night in Cottonfield County. A rather violent cold front came through, and an 82 MPH wind gust was recorded on a private weather station belonging to one of the rescue squad members. It seemed like half the damn trees we have fell down. &1 Amurrkin yesterday; 52 today. :mad:

Sorry to hear about the layoffs, **Shadow **and Tyger’s dad. It sounds like they’ve got some pretty good programs for you, though, Shadow. How’s the economy in your area? Do you think you’ll be able to find something quickly?

The doc gave me a scrip for prednisone last week for the hives, and I’m still working my way through the 10-days worth. She said it may cause increased anxiety. I don’t know if it really is or if it’s psychosomatic or if it’s the impending layoff news or what, but I definitely have increased anxiety this week. I’m feeling so stressed about everything and nothing. Yippee.

And I don’t feel like doing any work.

My frakkin’ flash drive decided it didn’t like me, so it corrupted the file I’ve been working on. I lost three days’ work. Three mother-frakkin’ DAYS!!!

Yeah yeah… I know. Backups are your friends, and the more the better. Can someone please share that information with the stingy bastard who refuses to increase the size of my network drive?

Aww, crap, shadow. Here’s hoping something better falls in your lap right away. I am seriously worried for both myself and Mr. Anachi, even though there aren’t any hints that we might lose our jobs. I think everybody is feeling that right now.

I have a mild case of Teh Sick that I have been fighting. So has Mr. Anachi. Trying to sleep in the same bed has only been marginally successful. :stuck_out_tongue:

And right now I am feeling the chills. :frowning:

Forgot to say earlier, swampy, I lurves my iPhone. But work set it up for me so I didn’t have to deal with email setup. And KT has fiddled with the rest of it so I just get to play with it without dealing with any of the difficult parts. All fun, no annoyance. Works for me! :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, one of us has been ending up in the guest bed every other night or so for weeks now. It just doesn’t work very well when one person’s snuffling or coughing or tossing & turning.

I think my posting rate has doubled or tripled this week compared to the last few. I just can’t get motivated to work. Much more fun to spend my time here.

That sucks about the layoff but I am happy that you were prepared. My brother got in from Houston yesterday. The oil rig he worked on as a mud engineer got moved and he got laid off. This house is getting full! But we’re all together and no one is going hungry so what is there to bitch about?

I work tonight at the bar during the football game. I am excited!!

Good luck to all hunting for jobs or just praying to keep the one you’ve got. And thanks for all the support over going back to school. I know I have to do the Medicaid thing for my kids and it’s the right thing to do. It just feels icky sometimes.

BBBBobbio, the news in the DC area said that there might have been a tornado in Norfolk. Any word on that from the media down there? They showed a marina where the boats had been tossed around and said that a funnel cloud had been sighted yesterday, when the front went through.

Almost lunch time! :smiley: Which means that Friday is even closer. LOL

Yeah… That stuff really gets DH on edge. Do pay attention to the dosing - there’s probably a tapering-off schedule, and you may be a bit achy for a couple of days as your body gets used to the stuff not being there. Hopefully not - ten days is a pretty short time to be on it.

Hmm… I didn’t see anything like that but I’ll make sure when I get home. Maybe I’ll cut down to 1/2 a dose for the remainder of the time or something. Glad to know I’m not the only one who finds myself jittery from this. I feel like I’ve had 5 cups of coffee.
