Holiday Shopping: What have you bought?

Huh. And another was Das Ich. There’s a theme here.

I bought you a swift kick in the ass.

(This is normal banter between us.)

Actually, we got you something cool.

It’s Le goût de Monsieur: L’homosexualité masculine au XVIIe siècle, by Didier Godard (H&O, 2002). It’s part of a four-book set on homosexuality from the medieval period to the French Revolution.

Sent my brother-in-law a gift certificate

Will take my sister shopping over New Year

Putting together music cds, cards and wracking my brains trying to think of what gifts to give friends. Law schooling friend will definitely get shipped off free PMBR & homemade flash cards. Still lost on the others. As usual, everyone may just get random TJs items.

Some cd’s, tie, cashmere sweater, toys, Balenciaga City for myself :), tea set, robe, surf lessons. I think the other presents I will buy for my family will be closer to when I go visit them in January.

Two John Coltrane CDs, a pair of earphones, an Indigo gift card for $25, a box of Bronnley lemon soaps, a Happy Bunny calendar, and a box of truffles.

Now I just need to help out with everyone’s stocking, buy our dog a new toy, see if my friend and cousins want to exchange gifts…

I did the Christmas thing with my best friend and his family on Saturday (they go out of town for the holidays every year): Steve got a CD, DVD, and book from his wish list; Jen got a book and CD that I knew she wanted, and a gift card to a store that I know she likes; and Nick (5 years old) got two Lego sets. He was very excited about them.

Today I ordered stuff for the family: Mom is getting a DVD and book from her wish list and the “Pet Sounds” 40th Anniversary CD+DVD (Limited Edition Fuzzy Package); my brother is getting a book from his wish list and an Amazon gift certificate (he only had 4 other items on his list: one of them is several hundred dollars, and the others ship in 4-6 weeks … sometimes I could strangle him); and Dad is getting “Superman” - The 1948 & 1950 Theatrical Serials Collection and The Mall in Washington, 1791-1991. My father has everything that he needs, won’t create a wish list, and refuses to ever give me any idea of what he wants, so if he doesn’t like his presents it’s his own fault.

I’m dating someone who I only just started seeing a couple of weeks ago, so we’re not bothering with Christmas stuff for each other, but I’ll be getting his dog a special treat for New Year’s. (Getting brownie points from the new boyfriend by spoiling his dog? Me? Never! :D)

Some bits and pieces of “stocking filler” for my nieces, plus the one “adult” present I have to buy for my brother. I got him a weather monitor (temp, rainfall, barometer etc) for his new property.

I bought my mom a Dremel tool. I’m sure she’ll love it. I just can’t figure out from the box if it can be used as a router. Anybody know?
