Holiday TV questions

While looking through the TV Guide site, I noticed 2 things.

  1. The Charlie Brown Christmas Special is on ABC this year. Am I mistaken, or was this on CBS in years past?

2)http://www.tvguide.com/listings/holidayguide/120701.asp At the end of the listings in the link above, there’s a mention of an Opus and Bill Christmas Special-which I can only assume is the Bloom County I missed a long time back. However, I don’t recognize the channel it’s listed on. ABCFAM appears to be the Family Channel that I’m used to (I think it used to be run by Pat Robertson’s group), but this one is listed simply as FAM-and anyway, I can’t believe they’d run a Berke Breathed special at any cost. Can anyone enlighten me as to WHAT channel that actually is? I couldn’t find a guide for the channel abbreviations anywhere on the site.

  1. Dunno. Think so, but dunno.

  2. The Family Channel started life as CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network), and has changed hands a few times in his history. ABC is the organization currently holding its reins.

Charlie Brown used to be on CBS. I remember this because as a kid, we never got CBS in very well with our antenna. We had to watch CB through the fuzz.

Here is an article about the Peanuts switch from CBS to ABC (the article was written in September 2000).

Here’s the link to ABCFamily, the current version of the Family Channel, which does seem to change its identity every other year.
