Holy hell 2012 looks bad

: snerk :

Man, what an utter crapfest this is going to be. Emmerich hasn’t made a decent movie since ID4. This is just playing into all the hysteria…

wait, it’s starring John Cusack, Woody Harrelson, Amanda Peet, and Thandie Newton?

It’s got John Cusack!

This movie is going to be great! Cusack vs. the end of the world! Himalayan tsunamis, LA sinking into the ocean, DC getting smashed by an aircraft carrier. I’m there opening day for sure.

I like Cusack and Harrelson and Thandie Newton is smokin’ hot! But unless she gets naked, I definitely will not be there.

lol a parody trailer. They threw in some WOTW there too. Not sure which movie the exploding planet is from. “Coming (too) Soon” was also a nice touch. That would’ve been cool though, I liked the Taelons and their art direction. They kind of already did that last year with Knowing though.

People are getting too hung up on defending the genre. As I posted a while back in another thread, there are many examples of good and bad movies within a genre.

This particular movie is widely rumored to be bad for it’s genre. When even the run of the mill Hollywood flunky says it’s going to stink, it really is going to stink. If someone slams a movie like this, it’s not necessarily because they are a snob.

Hey, they all can’t be “Ballistics: Ecks vs. Sever”.

Philistine! He reads it in the original Greek!

His career, so that we don’t get any more of his crap?

(Too much to hope for, I know…)

Well damn! That sure takes the wind out of my sails. Still have to see it for the comedic value tho’.

All this movie will be is an excersize in state of the art visual effects. Luckily, I have a deep passion for visual effects. Unfortunately, stupid makes my frontal lobes melt. I usually go in hoping these two opposites cancel each other out, and I’m able to take the good with the bad, but then I remember, all before it’s too late, that stupid always trumps cool.

Kinda like Transformers 2.

So watch something so stupid that your frontal lobes all melt off, and then go see the new movie.
