Holy OMG, I preggers!

Congratulations on all of the above!

Wonderful news even sven! May the rest of your pregnancy and the birth go smooth as silk.

I’m nursing my nine month old and never stopped eating obscenely spicy food. I’m still craving Frank’s Extra hot sauce, Siracha, jalapenos, and wasabi. My favorite is Indian, and I order “Indian hot”, and the baby hasn’t had any complaints or discouraged by anything I’ve eaten. The jury seems split on whether or not capsaicin, the sulfur in cruciferous vegetables, or soy can cause intestinal distress in breastfed infants, but I eat like a starving goat and we’ve had no problems at all. Hope you continue to have the same good fortune  Also, lost the baby weight in three months, she’s yet to catch a cold. If you are interested in nursing, I recommend it. It’s made our lives easier.

Congrats on all your happy news!

Count me as another one who was like, “Wait, even sven got married? Without telling us?” Your joy shines through every post in this thread, and I am thrilled for you and your newly-minted spouse and the miniature human you’re making. Mazel tov!

Congratulations, sven!

So, a story about names. Good friends of mine were expecting, and they knew the child was a boy. They talked, conferred, argued, sought advice, and eventually drew up a list of possible names.

When they met the new person, both instantly knew that none of the names on the list fit him. It took them (collectively) no time at all to realize that his name was meant to be Oliver*, though the name wasn’t even on their radar beforehand.

*the boys (father’s friends) collectively decided he should be named Tiberius Thunderfist, and thus address him as ‘Tibs’ when cooing at him.

Wait, you got married? Where are the pics?

Gratz on everything, best wishes for appropriate numbers of fingers, toes and all those body parts in between.

I’m assuming the husband is Brazilian, from what you say about names? I like that you’re picking names that sound good in both languages.

For a town in Spain, as an irregular spelling of victoria (in this case, Spanish for “victory”). Nicknamed Siberia for being gifted with surprisingly low temperatures (it’s usually 10-20ºC colder than areas barely 20km away). In Basque it’s called Gasteiz (which does not mean victory, it was already the name of the place when the city got founded).

Wait, you have gotten engaged, married and pregnant? You do realize under the Doper Procedure Rules (DPR) each is a separate thread

So here goes my attempts

*Congratulations on your engagement
*May you have a long and happy married life. Court marriages rock.
*Will hold wishes for the last until it’s a living breathing defecating baby doper.

Congratulations!

Obviously, I have not been keeping up with the happenings in Sven-ville.

Exciting news on many fronts.

Wow, I didn’t even know you got married! :o congratulations

congrats even sven!

Congratulations, even sven!

Mazel Tov!

It’s the Portuguese version of Victoria. Portuguese is a language obsessed with leaving out letters:

Pessoa = person (hey, where’d the “R” & “N” go?)
vôo = flight (there should be an “L” in there somewhere)
sô = only (not solo, which would make sense? nah, too many letters)
vulcão = volcano (who needs an “N”?!)

Brazilian Portuguese works like this: you take Spanish. Get rid of grammar, that’s just annoying. Then you scrap all those pesky letters. You add fun squiggles on the left-over letters to make it look nice. BOOM. Portuguese.

Congratulations!

FWIW, this was totally me when pregnant - I was absolutely whacked from about week seven, even getting out of bed was an effort. In my case, this mostly went away about week 12, so thinking good thoughts that you have the same pattern

    1. Babies really require so little. Toddlers need to not learn the letters N and O. Otherwise, they’re fun too !!!

Wonderful news- yay babies !!!

Congratulations! Count me as another who has missed all the news.

Well, they’re economic! They took letters off in pronunciation and they took them off in spelling too.

And generous, too! I hear they donated all those excess letters to Ireland.

Congratulations! Such wonderful news!
