HOLY SH#T!! THEY DID IT AGAIN! 1st Amphibious Refugee Truck Brigade

Another group of Cubans have converted another 1950’s vintage truck into an amphibious craft to sneak into Florida.

Let 'em in! Anybody who can do that, can turn a buck in the tourist trade.

That’s amazing.

I say let them in, then get them to Detroit. If they can make a car into a boat, I bet they can get us either a hydrogen car or a flying car by the end of the decade.

That looks like a car to me.
Now if they could turn their car into a submarine that could fire rockets…

It’s unfortunate that they didn’t make it to land. Cubans who set foot on US soil are usually granted automatic asylum. Better luck next time, assuming Castro doesn’t have them shot.

Nitpick: Actually, the two guys behind the floating Buick are the same two that came up with the floating Chevy truck. Both “boats” were sunk by the Coasties.

What those guys need are radar-deflecting “stealth” wrapping for their next opus… the Stealth Amphibious 1958 Chevy…

I also hope they make it next time. Vive Cuba Libre!

Does anybody else see the advertising potential here?

“Let your Chevrolet-Buick dealer show you how to make your car, truck or suv seaworthy, just like those guys in Cuba did. Now you can take the family for an excursion on the water, as well as to the water.”

or

“Come to Havana Sea-cars to have your vintage vehicle converted and certified for deep sea fishing and intercoastal excursions.”

Has a snappy beat!

Holy shit, they did it again!
They took an old truck
Caulked it up tight!
Oh, baby, baby
Do you think that they’ll get
Any amnesty?

To the tune of “Oops, I did it again.”

I know some people who are fans of Guerras del Junkyard.

The converted pickup and Buick are both impressive efforts, but both failed because they were detected. It’s time for them to upgrade their equipment:
