Homage to Our Founder, Rue DeDay - MMP

Afternoon all. Grocery shopping done - OUCH! It was an expensive one this week (about $220), but the fridge, freezer and pantry are now full to overflowing!

Oops, time to make late lunch - later y’all!

Today started off well. I got complimented twice on the big project I did yesterday as soon as I walked in the door.

I need to get my stuff in order for my online class and prepare to delve into the depths of A.R. Ammons’ papers again. I got invited to a Halo 3 session either tonight or tomorrow night as well. What’s this? A beginning of a social life? How can it be?

Drive by.

It is almost 4 PM, on Friday (which is supposed to be the weekend), and I haven’t even had a cup of coffee yet!

I think I’m going to take a nap instead…

Later all!

Morning.

The van is supposed to come out of the body shop today. Maybe that will get VWife off my ass.

Fire School #1 this weekend, and nothing else on the list. Carry on.

Ears perk up Did someone mention Halo3? Spaz do you have xbox live? If so I would love to play some Halo3 with you! I’m not that good (as **LOUNE ** can testify) but it’s fun anyway! Oh and if you ever play with LOUNE he’s hilarous. Let me know if you want my gamertag.

Today we are heading out of town. I’m going to go do shopping. Yay! I so need new clothes.

Oh and help yourself to the rest of the cake, if beebs didn’t eat it all.

I’m a lightweight gamer. I still play MECC Oregon Trail, Nintendo 64 (emulated!) and Mario Kart Double Dash and Simpsons Hit-and-Run on Gamecube. The only system I have is a Gamecube. This’ll be my first foray into Halo territory. We’ll see how it goes. I predict death in no more than fifteen minutes.

Good mawnin and happy Firday!!! I am not amused today. It’s cold (for Flawduh) here this morning and the first thing when I got to work I had to turn around a go out for the local paper, The Orlando Slantinel because our genius creative director is quoted in an article. Like he hasn’t probably already got a bazillion copies.

Then I find out that I have to burn and deliver ten CD press kits to another client by 2:00 this afternoon. I am soooooooo gonna expense the gas on this one.

No big plans for the weekend. Just the usual errands and housework and appearance at the Sundance Film Festival. Ha, ha. Just kidding about that last one.

Tupug

It has BEGUN! MWHAHAHA!

Thank whatever Deities there may be that it’s Firday. I am determined to do some housecleaning and laundry today.

But first, some food. And coffee.

Evening all. Noor is asleep and hubby is out - I have the house to myself!! Too bad it’s too cold to make the most of it by wandering around nekkid!

So (and that sentence starter is just for FCM), my big news is … I handed in my notice, refused to accept the piddly counter-offer my boss made and was settling into the prospect of serving out my notice and changing jobs, when my boss comes back to me late Thursday (yesterday) and says, “We can’t afford to lose you. Tell me how much we need to pay you to make you stay!” HOLY … WTF??? So now I am really confused! I can’t figure out whether to ask for the money or stick with my original plan to leave. I could (in theory) get my current boss to pay me about $10-15K more than the new place is offering, but I just don’t know … :whine: Anyone have any ideas???

On a completely different tack, I was watching “The Mom Show” on satellite (I think it’s a Canadian show) and saw a woman who looked like a pregnant LiLi!

Anyhoo, off to cook some dinners for HRH and sort my menu plan out for the week.

dotty, in my experience at my company the folks who opted to stay because the company counter-offered were either miserable or got shafted by the company somehow. You weren’t happy at your present company so you looked elsewhere. IMO, your current employer will harbor at least some resentment about the situation if you decide to stay.

Went grocery shopping today and yesterday, after cleaning out my freezer wednesday, and I now have enough food to get me through the next month or so. Of course, that won’t stop me from continuing to shop. I’ve developed that habit of bargain-hunting, and whenever stuff is on sale I can’t resist stocking up. Although at least now I’ve stopped stocking up on chocolate bars.

Is it just me or has the MMP been rather slow this week?

Both cats are sitting on me and making it impossible for me to get up and be productive. It’s their fault!

I copped a 'tude and left work at noon. I didn’t feel like being there, I had nothing of substance to do, and I just didn’t feel like being there. So I left. Not that I’ll do anything now that I’m home, but at least I don’t have to listen to Brian and his BS all afternoon, so there’s that.

Very cold here - I don’t think it’s hit freezing yet. I should start a fire, or bake, or do something to warm this house up a bit more. I do want to throw together a batch of sketty sauce since I have some fresh portobellos to toss in. I just paused to pull out some ground beef to thaw, so there will be some sketty-sauce makin’ soon. I’m also going to mix up a batch of the fajita marinade I made for **FCD ** earlier in the week - he really liked it, so I’ll have some prepped and on hand.

I watch channel 7 so I missed the channel 4 Firday crawl - oh well, my loss.

**Lurkster ** - I’m assuming you’re not stocking up on chocolate because you have enough for now. Although the concept of “enough chocolate” is somewhat foreign to me.

Yes. The MMP has been slow this week because of you. :stuck_out_tongue:

You posted your hair pictures in another thread so all the drooling men didn’t post here.

And you’ve been busy working this week, so you haven’t regaled us with enough of your stories. More** Haze** stories!!

I’m not stocking up on chocolate because I’m trying to lose weight, and having a pile of 5-oz chocolate bars and bags of assorted “funsize” candy is just too tempting. I’m trying to ration out what I have on hand, but that’s not working out too well. Like last night when I scarfed down an entire 5-oz bar of Hershey’s Special Dark instead of breaking it into three or four chunks and saving some for another night.

I am doing better, but last night at rehearsal, I strained my throat a bit. Guess I wasn’t singing correctly (see, when you sing correctly according to the Sweet Adelines standards, you don’t use your throat at all)

Yes, gt, I saw the thread. I was just debating whether or not to sign up.

lolcats r funnee

In my defense, I haven’t had many silly stories to tell. Life these past couple weeks have just been filled with work, home, and two lazy cats.

I’ll try to have something ridiculous happen to me over the weekend. :stuck_out_tongue:

Your correspondent Rip Van Winkle reporting in. I fell asleep right after I posted last night and slept til almost 11AM.

heh.

I was talking to a pal, one of the Unholy Four who has been working this boundary thing with me. Told her I just COULD NOT get up and out of bed this morning. She said “it’s called exhaustion stupid”.

Oh.

Dang, **Rip ** - the kitties let you sleep that long???
