Home Audio - Sound Suddenly Tinny

Dopers,

First, here’s my home set-up–>
Comcast digital cable from wall, split into two behind entertainment center:
Coax 1 - Into VCR, Out of VCR with RCAs into Receiver TV/VCR Input
Coax 2 - Into Digital cable box, out with RCAs into TiVo, Out of TiVo with S-Video into Receiver Video input
Finally Receiver to TV with S-Video

Situation–>
My sound on Coax 2 has suddenly gone very tinny. The wife and I were watching live TiVo. We then switched to something recorded on TiVo. When we went back to live TiVo, the sound is very distorded with tinny sounding treble. I switched over to Coax 1 and the sound is normal. All cable connections are secure. Before I tear it apart, what might have happened?

I just hope nothing’s wrong with the TiVo.

Any idea?

Update -

I unplugged the TiVo to reset it. Sound is now back to normal. This scares me because now I know the TiVo is to blame. Is it dying or was this just some sort of glitch?
