Homeland: Season 2

Holy shit, you’re right! Yeah, she was smokin’ in that role.

Got the exact episode(s) ???

Death Mask.

Holy shit. I kept thinking she looked vaguely familiar. What a 180 in terms of roles.

Nice call, I would never have put that together and that’s the type of thing I’m usually pretty good at.

I wonder what’s going to happen to Brody at the end of this season . . . surely they must eventually find out what part he played in the VP’s death. No one is going to believe Nazir just let Carrie go for no reason, or that she was able to escape on her own.

Is that even possible? I don’t know anyone with a pacemaker, but it just seems like a reach to (spoilered if necessary)

change the rhythm/turn it off like that remotely?

Television Without Pity’ssynopsis of yesterday’s episode is priceless.

Do we know for sure that the VP died?

You’d think that Brody would be in big, big trouble if he didn’t but I’m sure they could figure out some way to use the dirt he has on the VP and Estes to create and “insurance policy” of sorts.

Except that is last week’s recap. The recaplet for last night’s ep doesn’t appear to be up yet.

For those who have only dipped their toes into the Homeland stuff on Tw/oP … the one page recaplet is followed 5-6 days later by a multi-page recap. (Now if could figure out how to get the whole thing to appear on one page.)

Aren’t the offices of the VP and President intentionally “bugged” to keep a legal record of what is said? I thought this was standard practice - in which case, Brody’s comments to the VP might not be all that wonderful for him later.

They really are burning through plot quickly. They have been picked up for another season after this one - but at this rate, everyone will be dead or in prison by the time the next season starts.

Still, I have to admit this show keeps me on the edge of my seat and when it ended last night I said, “Damn!”…wanting to watch more!

Oh well, it was still good.

I’m going to have to get the whole season on DVD when it’s over.

What’s going on with Saul? This thing has more twists and turns than a. . .twisty, turny thingy.

Yeah I kept thinking, “Shut UP Brody SHUT UP HE MIGHT NOT EVEN DIE.”

Surely they’ll have to move on to a new baddie next season. I don’t see how this can drag out any longer.

It’s possible, but an attacker would have to be within a range of something like 50 feet. Those devices don’t have any ability to connect directly to the Internet but they do have RF capability.

Of course its possible. Nazir read it in The New York Times

How many TV shows go so far as to contain cites in their characters dialogue. Must be a Doper in the writers room.

I think it all has something to do with the bunker busters but I have no clue where everyone fits.

I also think that Estes and Quinn knew that Nazir was using Brody to get to the VP and they were fine with the VP being taken out. Maybe Estes and Quinn are working for Iranians, and Nazir is just as much a pawn as Brody and Carrie and Saul.

Just one episode left this season.

I don’t understand why Brody is so fucking relaxed. Now that Nazir is dead, the CIA doesn’t need him, and they never trusted him in the first place. He can’t think that his Congressman status is any protection. Like Estes said, Brody’s death can be made to look like blowback for Nazir. As a former POW, he’s a believable target.

Is Carrie safe? They’d be smart to kill her as well. She won’t accept Brody’s death as an assassination.

One thing’s for sure: beyond the question of whether Quinn will take out Brody, I feel like everything was wrapped up much too easily in this episode. I think major surprises are in store for the finale.

I liked the interrogation scene between Roya and Carrie.

I have never seen a show that burns up plot as fast as Homeland does - most of these storylines would have taken multiple seasons to unfold in other series, but here it seems like they just bust things open in two or three episodes!

At this point, I have no idea where this story is going - but I don’t care. The ride is fantastic and anyone who has been watching from day one will know there is always something waiting around the corner that you didn’t see coming - but somehow makes sense.

Maybe Brody was the mastermind from the beginning?
Maybe Saul has more to do with this than originally thought?
Maybe Carrie has even more screws loose (if that is even possible) and will flip?
Maybe Nazir was just a soldier working for someone bigger who will pop up?
Maybe this was all a huge red herring for a much larger, sinister terrorist activity that many know about but can now blame Brody and Nazir?

At this point, I will just stop speculating and wait and watch - but one thing I can say, this show has been anything but plodding, dull and boring!
