Quinn should have died a dozen times already. His occupation doesn’t have the longest career. It was time for him to go.
And likely a naive question but do professionals like Quinn really exist?
The scene in the woods a where Allison and the Russian agents are killed didn’t make sense to me. Why not take her alive? Saul made the deal with the Russian guy just to get her. Why not capture and “de-brief” her before putting her in jail for the rest of her life? And were there shooters on both sides of the road? That certainly wouldn’t make any sense. The car was riddled with bullets from front to back. Surely, trained killers would be more accurate than that. I know, its Hollywood.
I think perhaps Saul was done with Allison and was satisfied to see her dead. Remember that she had seduced him at Ivan’s direction and then had pretended not to be a Russian agent right until she escaped from the hospital. (Where, by the way, they left her unguarded and not even handcuffed to the hospital bed.) I don’t know if Saul ever got the full story of how the Russians blackmailed her after she conspired with that guy to run away with the $7 million in American funds.
Could also be that the actor got a better gig somewhere, and he wanted the character killed off, or the writers figured that was the best way to handle it.
Just finished the 5th season and was annoyed by this scene as well. It made no sense to kill her when she would have been so much more valuable for the information she had about the Russian spy network in Europe.
Also, it seems like they killed her in Poland. Why? They could have just as easily captured her alive instead of setting up that ambush.
I feel like Quinn is going to survive. The guy is just too interesting a character.
Finally, During asking Carrie to be his “partner”. That was simply not believable. She’s so broken, it’s impossible to believe she’d have such a busy romantic life.
In real life, as someone commented recently when the season ended, there is a ‘unspoken agreement’ that you do not fuck with the other side’s people in this way, as it’s a trick easily repaid in kind.
Apparently, Quinn hasa good chance of coming back.
