I find a great deal of your language offensive. I also find it vulgar in the extreme; vulgar being defined by Webster’s as “characterized by ignorance of or lack of good breeding or taste.”
On prisons: Aside from the current high level of homosexual activities in them, they are dangerous, brutal, restrictive places, limiting freedom of all forms. Placing a homosexual in there would NOT be giving them a vacation.
On AIDS: AIDS is high in the homosexual community but not just because they tend to use anal sex. It is because, like many men, they tend not to use protection. Also because male homosexuals tend to be more violent in their sexual acts than female homosexuals. Plus they tend to penetrate their partner with their organ, while female homosexuals cannot.
Because they use anal sex frequently without proper protection, the incidents of Hepatitis is more frequent among them than among the heterosexual population and the lesbian one. (Hepatitis is mainly spread through fecal bacteria and blood.)
On the cause of AIDS: Initially it was traced as to having arrived in America from a homosexual French Canadian Airline Steward. How he obtained it, I never found out, but, after several decades, I discovered that AIDS pretty well has been located as originating in Africa among a certain group of Monkeys, who, upon biting humans, spread it to them. (Syphilis was brought to the world from Italy, having originated as a disease in dogs, which mutated into the human variant that became, for a time, just as lethal as AIDS.)
There have been theories that AIDS had already infected heterosexual people before the French Canadian infected the homosexual population.
I don’t care much for homosexuals and I have to admit that watching some of them on television shows annoys the heck out of me – like that ‘guy’ on educational television who shows people how to turn a perfectly nice, uncluttered home into an inexpensively ‘tastefully’ designed, cluttered mess. I still don’t get it when so many obviously ugly guys have to dress up like women and mince around thinking they are cute. (Now, I can understand it when some guys dress like women and look great! I mean, they CAN pass as women. Not like those hairy, bandy-legged others.)
I also figure that if a homosexual is going to dress up like a woman and play prostitute, if he gets his ass beat by a surprised customer, then he deserves it.
Now, a lot of people do a lot of things that I don’t agree with, but they have the right to do them in this country. I also believe that a Homosexual or Lesbian is born that way and most have about as much a chance at changing to ‘normal’ as a Leopard has of changing his spots. So, I cannot find any concrete reason to deny them the same freedoms and rights that I, a Heterosexual, enjoy.
I mean, that would be like going up to a person born with some mental disorder and denying them the right to try to have any form of a normal life. Hell, so long as they don’t make passes at me nor try to push their lifestyle on me, I don’t care what they do, so long as it is legal.
I’ve even had some homosexual acquaintances who I liked and they kept their personal sexual interests to themselves – at least as long as I was around. They were also at the top of their chosen careers in medicine, very highly paid and very well thought of by their peers and coworkers.
I ain’t going to go out of my way to kick some guys ass because he is a homosexual and I’ll laugh about jokes concerning them just as I laugh about jokes concerning Blacks, Poles, Italians, Red Necks, Blondes, New Yorkers and Canadians. I ain’t going to get all upset if some homosexuals move in next door and I ain’t going to get all pissed if a Homosexual serves me a meal at a restaurant. If a homosexual chooses to join a church, then they should be allowed.
I mean, wife beaters, drunks, thieves, and killers seem to have no problem in joining churches. (The Mafia is intensely Catholic and no one seems to give a shit.) Plus nothing much seems to be done about pedophile priests and money stealing ministers. Besides all of that, since they are born homosexual, I don’t think God would care and I figure they have the right to worship Him just the same as anyone else does.
I know I’ve met many a person whom I’ve considered not deserving any rights at all anywhere who have not been homosexuals and I haven’t observed any major stink being made about persecuting them.
Hell, we allow politicians to run around free and unbothered and they screw us worse than any homosexual ever has. So, if you’re going to attack the homosexuals, you’d better get a vat of hot tar for most of the politicians ready also.
I’m an unbigoted bigot in that I dislike everyone equally.

Actually Otto, this statement is quite true. The fact is that Orion, being a very literate and erudite poster indeed, is simply using words that you do not recognise. Offencive for instance, when pared with “vulgar” simply means “logical and well reasoned” (it acts both as a separate adjective, and as a modifier for the adjective vulgar).
“contributet (to)” is an obscure word drawn from middle english, meaning “been able (to) do”
Hence what Orion meant by that statement was actually more along the lines of
“I think you just should be silent and act if you see alot [of logical or well reasoned] language. -Something I haven’t [been able to do], so go away.”
So really he was just telling David B. not to bother posting to this board, as he himself didn’t have anything to say that would be worth David’s time. A very polite thing to do.
It’s just a pity that people are misunderstood to say things that they didn’t really say, isn’t it Orion?
Umm, people, why are we engaging this poster? The spelling and grammar alone are enough to show he’s either 12 or just trying to yank some chains.
BTW, why is this topic being entertained in Great Debates? It’s not “Great”, and it certainly hasn’t been a “Debate”.

Lord, please spare me from this particular urban legend…the airline steward in question, Guitan Dugas, was cited as “Patient Zero” in Randy Shilts’ book And the Band Played On. He was designated “Patient Zero” not because he was the first person in the US to have AIDS or the identified source of all HIV infections in the US. He was so designated solely because the CDC used a circular symbol to identify him in its early epidemiological work. Shilts never meant to suggest that Dugas was the bringer of HIV to the US, and on several occassions expressed his dismay that his work was being so interpreted. It’s completely ridiculous to think that one person could possibly be the sole disease vector to an entire continent.
There has now been a documented AIDS case dating back to the 1930s. I’ll try to find a link later.

Sentinel, I was all ready to flame you for your lengthy post, but I realized I can’t - you have your opinion, but you’re neither telling me I’m wrong nor that my rights should be abridged, so I have to respect you. I suppose I kind of feel about you the way I feel about Howard Stern - hate him, but have to respect that he is an equal-opportunity jerk-off, including about himself.
Still, I will agree with Otto that you have a few facts screwed up about AIDS, cross-dressing and what it means to be gay, but I think even if you knew those answers your attitude wouldn’t change… and, strangely, I think that would be ok.
